Hi, firstly I would like to say of course a vet check would be best.Thats the sensible stuff out the way.Now then whilst waiting for the vet you could try my daily check.. I belly hug for kicks..Which is great..Whilst my mare has her munch, I stand arm under her belly. I have my hand placed just down from the teats, and wait. Sure enough so far so good, I get my daily kicks. Once the food starts to get down to the foal they soon wake up. Not sure if its because the foal is hungry or because its fighting for room. Either way its a great tonic for me. I go home happy. I was first able to feel movement and kicks at 5 months.Back then I had to wait for ages an felt the slightest movement and prod. Now sometimes feels like the little things running the national, poor mare. Give it ago and let us know. My mare is not due untill july, so I am still waiting an waiting an waiting..Oh god you all know what I mean..I can't wait. Congratualtions to all you new parents, and thanks for all the lovelly foal pics..there great.( But killing me, as I'm still waiting. ;o( ) Good luck with finding out

HEHE!! So yesterday while the mare was eating, I was watching. All of a sudden she brought her head up and her butt in like someone just booted her. lol Well.... then we saw what looked like movement in her side. My parents are going to get her looked at so we will know but we are thinking in the next month or so if our calculations are right.

Quick question but when can you give them their shots? It is coming time and we just aren't sure.

She needs bootser shots 4 weeks before her due date. Your vet can tell you which ones.

I would have the vet out ASAP. In Foal mares need different/more care than other horses. Please be sure you have a safe place for her to foal. Your vet can help with that too.
