Red face Are male foals born with all their parts?

Are male foals born with all their parts visible?
Like their fuzzy plums? Or do they show up later?

They are born with their "horse" hanging out of the barn and fuzzy plumbs can be there or tucked away to drop later.

hmmm...'cuz I am thinking my filly (which I thought was a boy, then a girl)...is a colt. The lack of the plums and him sucking it up somehow, kinda threw me off. He let his "horse" out of the barn today and I am now sure she is a he. So embarrassing, confusing. Makes a person evaluate what they THOUGHT they knew huh?

They can also disappear as i just found out... lol. My one year old had them. And then when i was doing a pasture check everything had sucked back up in him. They can do this till they are 2 years of age my vet said. And sometimes it is done because it is so air is so hot that being sucked back up inside is actually cooler.

My colt was born with nothing showing at all. The only way to tell if he was a he, was to lift up the tail and make sure he wasnt a she (if you know what I mean).

LoL, osage...

This is probably the easiest way to tell if you have a filly or a colt.

Go raise the tail. Is there one hole there or two? There's your answer.

If it is that chestnut...treasure??...in your pics, I would say that is a colt. Looking at the pic with the boy and the colts bum to the camera.

there's one hole...lol...but when I looked under him, I guess he had it sucked up and it looked like it was just a hole...very weird...Then I thought, well, maybe it's a girl and the hole was just in the wrong spot...but no....It's a boy...for sure...lol..I think...I am so unsure about anything now...lol
