I always thought arabs were a bit flighty & hot until I came across one of the best camp horses I have ever known-Flower was a 14.3 grey arab that was the sweetest and greatest babysitter for our timid campers. He took such great care of our beginner riders that he was the only horse I trusted completely. I think it all depends on what type of arab you have-my friend breeds and owns arabs and hers are the mellowest horses you will ever see. I just wish they were a bit bigger @least 15.2-she does have one that is 16.0 hand though and he is a sweetheart!!! Just remember everyone has thier favorite breeds & most of them have arabian somewhere in thier bloodline!! woot!

Hey well my pony is the sweetest pony eva he is part breed arab. He knows how good u r soo with pony rides he is so gentle bit likes to have fun with me. I think that it depends on the type of horse and their personality. they can be flighty but zeus rearely has those moments and he is perfect in everything else and to make him better he is very stunning and beautiful.

I love arabs, and wouldn't buy anything that wasn't at least half arab. After leasing a pure Egyptian arab, I bought my own (also Egyptian). I ride lots of other breeds at the barns I take lessons at- but nothing has been as wonderful as the two arabs I've had!! And with young kids (my kids who ride are 5 and 9) I trust arabs with kids more than any other breed. Both of my horses have been very kid-loving.

I love my anglo-arab. He is so athletic, he can excell in pretty much any discipline, except western pleasure.

An Arab would not be my choice of breed, however, they are beautiful horses....

I agree Trooper! The horse models that I had lining my dressers and the horse posters on all the walls when I was a kid, were mostly Arabs. Beautiful to look at, but just not my cup of tea. wink
