arabians

I heard arabians peak at 15. Is this true? I'm leasing an arabian whose 19 and still has lots more years!

It depends on the horse, really. I've seen some Arabs peak at 10 and others peak at 15. It all depends on when they were started and what they've done. If you're meaning like what age to buy an Arab at, I'd say 8 to 12. It's a nice range of age and will generally give you many years to enjoy the horse.

I honestly think it depends on the individual horse and how it has been kept and taken care of. Too many things have to be taken into consideration that affect a horse's health and usefulness.
There are Arabian mares and stallions still alive and active well into their 30s.
There are also Arabians still being shown in performance classes and winning in their 20s. So if the horse has been well taken care of and looked after the so-called "peak" could and often does happen much later!

i know people who have healthy strong arabs in their 20's who are ready to go go go all the time lol As far as when they peak, what everyone else says sounds about right as far as what I've heard too.

Yep, what she said.
I used to ride a half arabian palomino mare, she was 34 and still going strong! That girl had stamina and was just a great ride! They may "peak" at 15, but that doesn't mean they are unuable after that.
