I do very much agree with MyBabyTex, I've seem many of race horses with great bloodlines not make it. We bought a No Nukes gelding for $1200 from a guy who paid $80,000 for him as a yearling. He made us around $30,000. But I think its all in the eye of the beholder.

The Arabian colt is a very handsome little guy..

Yep it is! The only thing is though is he's not a racing horse! He won't be sold because he's not fast enough, I don't think his looks will change that drastically when he get older, infact he should just keep getting better. And his pedigree difinatly will not change therefor neither will his breeding potential....

Thanks for the compliments on him though guys ! It was a shock for me to come on here and see my own horse!! haha

Bw--Regarding your posting about certain Thoroughbred stallions and their offspring....I read about a phenomenon where many outstanding racehorses have not sired outstanding colts, but rather it is their daughters who go on to become excellent broodmares, passing on their traits to both sexes of their foals... Like the original traits you are breeding for must pass down through a daughter to express themselves in the third generation.

I'm assuming that's in canadian $. So for all of the other currency challenged people out there, that's about $75,000 American dollars.

nope it's USD we have everything in USD, we pay for shows and nominations in UDS so we sell in USD. Plus the market for our horses is mostly in the US.

Well as it's always said. There is the price that the buyer asks for, and then there is the price that is really paid. They are two different things. Sorry but I wouldn't spend over 10k for any horse, regardless of bloodlines. While that pedigree does sport some of the greats, there are other horses out there who sport the same as well. Being that Arabians are a dime a dozen, it's not like those bloodlines are limited to a few. Sheila has and had some nice horses. Bask is all over gods creation. NV Beau Bey, probably cheaper to find yourself a pretty nice mare and breed to him or buy a foal from the owners who are some very nice folks. No 'average' person in the horse market is going to pay that for a horse, much less a foal. There are more 'average' people out there than 'big wigs'. If they are then they have a tad too much cash in the hand or are beyond successful and have no where else to spend their money. Cute colt, but I'm just as proud of mine and many other's as well. A price tag doesn't make the horse great. Good luck with your sale of him. B)

Arab,

That is one fantastic foal. It must feel good being a part of an operation that breeds such quality animals. Congratulations.

Bodi,

Well then it's a good think I didn't ask anyone on here to buy this horse. Infact we're not asking anyone to buy this colt. We try not to put ourselfs in a situation where we HAVE to sell a horse. I think there are a lot more people in the world then you think that would spend that much on a horse. Regardless this isn't the first horse of ours with a high price tag on it that we've sold. I did not bring up this topic of price tags as I already knew what some people on this forum would say from looking at other posts. But since were into price tags, I will go on. You say you wouldn't pay more then 10K for any horse...well that is up to you. Me personally I would buy a horse for $500,000, if I had the money. Many of our horses (up and coming- so young ones) will be in the national ring. If not they are minimum regional level horses. I am NOT saying you can not go out and buy a horse for $2000 and end up going to nationals as we sold a horse by the name of Bugacci for $3500 and he is now 8 time national champion hunter pleasure horse. BUT I DO NOT believe that you can go and but (atleast with arabians) a less then $10,000 horse which has the capability to go to nationals in halter and performance. And with that $10,000, you would have to buy them young. BUT I absolutely can't believe that someone can go out and buy an arabain stallion, mare (colt or filly) that is a contender for the top two spots at nationals for LESS then $70,000 dollars (I'm talking a halter horse). These are only my experiences of the arabian world. If you can name a different instance with arabians I will retract what I said. And thanks for the luck in selling him, we have 3 different farms interested in him so we'll need it. (not that I want him to sell...he's a sweety )

Thank you so much Belle! Yes I am very lucky to have grown up where I did. But at the same time I think any kid with a horse...is a very happy kid!!! Price tags didn't mean anything to me until about 2 years ago...lol

If I could afford it, I would also buy a VERY expensive horse. I would have to agree that the horses that are winning at high end breed shows are selling for TONS of money.
