I can, because I don't like the look. I also don't like the temperament of most Arabs. And again, I don't like the look. No matter how hard you try and sell, some people don't like Arabs, I am sure that there are more than a few people that don't like Quarter Horse, so I guess it all balances out. | ||

7HL - i wasn't excited at all...that is what i hate about reading things on the net there are many different ways you can read something. I'm not trying to sell arabs on you i just don't think its right that you can say you don't like an entire breed...but it doesn't matter if you like them or not really, just means you wouldn't buy one!

I cant say I hate them or dont like them really. I have met very few arabs, but they just didnt seem to like me and their atitude wasn't something I would brag about. I think they're pretty though, I like their baby-doll type head. They can look funn if their body is to big for their head. Then they look awfully funny. Just to me-so far-they haven't been a breed I like much. But I can't say that wont change

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | now that colt is very stunning most definately, and im no expert but am going to share my opinion anyhow! i would be interested in that colt most definately, not at that price tho, not without one accomplishment, training........ unless i was some multi billionair and well 90,000 was like pocket change for me> even then tho. i am a huge fan of the lines too, both of my favorites in there, bask and bey shah. but i have to say, myself having a horse by the exact same sire as this fancy colts, Baskafire himself, and a different but nice quality dams line as well, Ms Bahama by Ms santana> along with DWD tobasco.... and not paying nearly a quarter of that price i just dont see paying that much i guess is all im saying for that colt. i do think he is very stunning> would love to see a still full body shot, but i mean for myself i believe shiela varian is amongst one of the best breeders for the arabian breeds and well she has horses more reasonably priced> not that someone wont pay that, im sure you may get that or close to it, i am aware of his lines and some people would die to get their hands on him specially with the type and refinment he has..... good luck with him, if you would ever like to donate i am always excepting anyhow LOL! the horse i purchased and later sold by Baskafire is in my avatar, if anyone would like to see more photos, of this colts half brother in some way lol, here is a link http://community.webshots.com/user.AlinasArabians he is in the 3rd album i belive starting on the 3rd page. i am in no way trying to offend or take sides on any of this crazyness, im just sharing here, i love the colt from what ive seen and his lines, but when i get back into arabs i will be looking for a bit more reasonable of a buy with just as much quality and pedigree> its out there. again good luck im sure you will have no problems with him! now "cant we all just get along?" Yes Arabians are the founder of the breeds... I can actually trace my TWH,my AQHA, and my friend APHA all back to arabian horses as well as the TB I sold... morgans are of Arab decent, Saddlebreds, you name it, theres an arab somewhere that helped found the breed. I never liked arabs either, owned them, got hurt by them... but I'm beginning to open my mind and realize they're not ALL nuts.. some are... you have Porceline Dolls and you've got unrefined, Personally for show I want the DOLL, but for trail riding, I'd want a Dollish Unrefined arab, bigger bones, would make it easier for rough travel. Every breed has it's own special trait. Dawn, I'll garuntee you that Megs wouldn't mind having a AQHA or a MUSTANG... she's really interested in both, and is wanting to learn how to show AQHA/APHA and inn exchange I'm wanting to learn how to properly show Arabs (high level, not 4H) so we're gonna trade services after we get things settle in a year or so. So dont say she wouldnt be interested in them, She would.

I never thought arabs were the founders of the breeds (according to my outdated research, lol!). I thought that the people in the middle east select bred the 'mustangs', which were already refined and showing TODAY'S arab characteristics. If you could consider that all of the horses over there were 'arabs', I am sure they culled many from the breeding process because they didn't fit their qualifications. I am not sayin they killed them, just that they castrated the ones that weren't tough, slender, and full of arab look. I don't want to steal the thread with this topic though, so I won't say more on this topic Baskafire?? That is cool! A horse we were going to get had him in his blood lines. I never knew he was famous until now. As stated before, I do not like arabs. But I have ridden two that I think are awesome. One was a lesson horse and another was this (I think) high bred arab gelding nut and all he wanted to do was do a high speed trot with his tail pluming on the end of the longe line. He has proved to me that even though they are high strung, they are still trainable (did I mention that this nut is SOOOO SMART?!?!) . I have only been on him a few times but I think that with correct training (the previous owners aren't that great, so I am sure he will fall to the pits after a while) he could be SUPERB, especially in showing! Although I like him, I doubt I would buy him if he were for sale. It is simply because he didn't fit my needs. However, if I liked arabs, I would pay $700 for him, a four year old. For some of you that may not seem like a lot (or maybe $700 is overprice in your mind), but I do not have the money to buy something over $700 unless it is a warmblood. And not any warmblood, it would have to be structurally correct (and most breeder associations of warmbloods are pretty good at ensuring that) and have a compatible temperment for ALL people! (well, not all, but the majority). As for this colt, If I were rich and I had a liking towards Arabs, I would pay $10,000 for him. Half of that because of his bloodlines, and the other $5000 because he is a fine example of what an arab SHOULD look like (except for the big ears |
