If the question had been, what do you think he's worth, I would have put what I thought he was worth. But seeing as how that wasn't the question, I answered the question actually asked. I have a slight suspicion that many on here answered the former instead of the later. When the later was answered, you got defensive because you felt as though it was being said that your horse wasn't worth what he is.

Why am I looking? Well mainly looked in the first place because I'm a mod and it's sort of my job to actually read what's being posted. I then looked at the horse because he's a nice looking horse. I then replied because I wanted some more info on him because I was curious. I was given the info and I answered a question which wasn't asked. (What do you think he's worth?) Someone then was offended by something I said, so I replied again. Which brings us to here where I finally answered the question that was asked. (What would you pay?) And now you're even more offended than you were originally.

I would expect you to say that you would pay $0 for either of my horses. Mainly because you are not interested in the breeds they are. And two because they're young and have very little training. There are few if any people on this forum that would give me a cent for Reno. That's fine. I love her, she's what I want, and she suits my needs. If she doesn't someone else's, that's fine for them. No, I wouldn't be offended at all. Now if I asked what they were worth, I would be a little ticked.

And again, the question was not what is the colt worth. It was what would you pay. Don't get mad because you're misreading the question and others aren't.

Not being an arabian person I would have to put a price of $5,000 on him. Because I don't think a foal should be over $5000. They unproven horses no matter what it says on there papers. I'm in no way trying to be insulting with my price, I just see foals as unproven horses.

You did say YOU wouldn't go near $100,000, so i assume by you, you ment...well...YOU! I understand that you are not looking for an arab stud. But neither were these other people, it was a hypothetical question i'm sure, I don't think Steph was trying to sell him for me by asking that question. But I do think it's odd that he went from $40,000 to nothing in your posts...in the matter of what..a day??

When I said that, it would have perhaps been more appropriate (assuming I had known that it was going to be taken to this extreme) to have said "I would not go anywhere near valuing him at $100,000...".

$40,000 was what I was giving as what he was worth based on what I knew about him (which was virtually nothing, what his immediate bloodlines were, that he had a cute face, and assuming he wasn't disfigured).

When I actually got around to answering the original question (which I specifically pointed out that that's what I was doing in my post!), I gave a price of $0 as I can honestly say that I would not buy this horse whether I had the money or not. He does not interest me, I have no need for him, and I don't want him. Why would I buy him then?

Dawn all I can say is that dealing with this subject and answering to you is the most difficult thing I have had to do to this forum. Ok to you this horse is worth 0$. That's fine with me believe me i'm absolutely NOT going to be heart broken that you wouldn't buy him! There are a lot of people that would buy if, and like i said were not in a hurry to sell this colt. So yes he is worth 0$ dollars to you, case closed!

And for some reason I can't give you a reputation point, but I don't think I have to for you not know that I think that was very rude and immature!...not that it would make a difference anyways

I happen to agree with Dawn.

She answered your question numerous times.

How much would YOU pay for him..
I won't answer your question. I don't like Arabs and don't want to own one. I also couldn't tell you what he's worth.

Why does someone answer or post when they may already have no interest in your horse, because you ask "all" of us what would you pay for him.

Maybe the appropriate post should have been, "For those of you that love Arabs, what would you pay for him?"

I looked at this post because it was at the top of the breeding forum and had a high thread rating, which most don't. I was wondering what all the fuss was about. I wanted to see the horse posted.

I'm sure he has great breeding, for some of us it doesn't matter.

7HL- That was a dumb thing for me to say why was she in here in the first place. It would have been better if i would have asked why would she respond is she simply was going to put 0$, that to me in itself is very rude. And Once again I will point out that i didn't start this thread. For those of you that great breeding doesn't matter, I did say it had to, I am happy and have already stated I was for someone to buy a less expensize horse because they love them, I think thats a great thing. I don't think it matters in a horse their breeding or looks if you are not trying to show at a high level. I also have some horses that are just here because I have gotten attached to them, or my parents have.

Oh but I do think is is very forward to say you don't like arabs, they are the founder of most breeds, I don't know how you can say you don't like every horse in one breed. I know I can't. But I mean thats up to you of course!
