Maybe someone can give me some insight on this....I think it is crazy.

I was on another forum and read that alot of people didn't think that the french arabians were purebred. I know Sin is. He has PUREBRED papers.

They were asking if the french arabs are here to stay. I guess people don't think they are 'typey' enough to be purebred arabs. I really don't know much about the different strains of arabs. I am completly new to the whole arabian world. But I need help (and alot of it!).

Can someone help me out on this!?!

I have never heard of a French Arabian. I would love to see a picture of one as I am an Arabian fiend tee hee hee!!!!

Yes, there are Purebred French Arabians....and French blood can be found in many of the Polish and Russian bloodlines as well as the Domestic.
Here is a bit that I found out that might be of interest to some here:

The French Arabian began being bred about one hundred years ago, around the same time breeding programs began in other countries in Europe, with imported desert horses (Byford, et al. Origination of the Arabian Breed). French Arabians were mainly bred for racing, and lack the beauty and type of their Crabbet counterparts. "For one hundred years the French, without government agendas, bred their Arabians exclusively to race. In doing this, so-called "type" may have been lost, but this type is a superficial aspect of the breed and only applies to nine of the listed strains (Byford, et al. Origination of the Arabian Breed)." French horses did become prominent in both Polish and Russian Arabian breeding (Byford, et al. Origination of the Arabian Breed).

Tersk Stud bought its first group of foundation horses from France- they were an important part of the development of the Russian Arabian and there are still surviving French sire and dam lines in Russian breeding. The original Tersk importation from France was in 1930 and included the stallion Kann and 6 mares.

Russian Arabians have many ties to the Polish Arabians. In fact, "The first Russian-bred imports to the United States and Canada were considered "Polish" because they were imported from Poland, although bred and foaled in the Soviet Union (USSR) (Byford, et al. Origination of the Arabian Breed)." Russian breeding programs had relied heavily on the Polish and Crabbet lines with an infusion of French and Egyptian breeding as well (Byford, et al. Origination of the Arabian Breed). The Polish influence is mainly due to the "evacuation" of twelve Polish Arabian stallions and forty-two mares during World War II, who were introduced into the Russian breeding programs (Byford, et al. Origination of the Arabian Breed

Sin is a french arabian. I don't have pics of him but his body resembles Kann alot.

The pic above the actual horse points out Kann's features. Sin has these features too...
(Less than exotic head, deep cheast, big deep shoulder, and the great legs {which are very muscular and thick})

The part about being purebred. Someone was saying that the french arabians themselves are not purebred arabians. I know Sin's sire was imported from overseas. I forget where exactly he was imported from though.

Many purebreds lack the type that most expect to see in an Arab. I think what your friends might be thinking of is the French Anglo Arab which is carefully bred to maintain a balance between the traits of the Arab and the TB. A second infusion of Arab blood often overwhelms all other breed traits and results in a foal that can pass for purebred.
