Arab/HA Sport Horse Nationals?

Has anyone gone before? This year it's in Virginia, and my mom, trainer and I might be going as long as the school year starts off well. (it's in September)

Obviously, I HIGHLY doubt I'll get bored, but I was looking for opinions people got on past years' shows.

I have never been but hasnt it only been around for two yrs? I hear they are having Hilda Gurney and David Oconner there to do afternoon clinics or something....read it on the net so that would be cool! http://www.arabianhorses.org/competi...orthorse/2005/ is on the AHA site about it!

LOL, yup! I was looking at the AHA page, too.

My mom wants to go b/c David O'Connor will be there, but my trainer is disappointed that they have riders who work with TB's and such speak at an Arab show. Of course it would be a once in a life time opportunity, but people, it's an ARAB show. Ask someone to speak who works with Arabs.

The minor problem is that the arab people will be somewhat busy...lol plus the thing is it is early int he life of sport horse nationals right?? They want people who are good with SPORT horses!!! LOL I personally was floored when I heard those 2 would bethere...I would go just for that....and so will many other people, thus hopefully making it a successfull show. Remember we learn from many people and many breeds, it is no insult to have medalists there to teach! For those of us who ride Arabians, we will take from clinics like that what we can of course, and know what doesnt work on our horses but I see it as a compliment that they would go to that. Kind of brings more positive attn to Arabians right??

Thats my thoughts anyways...
