Well thats weird because we get sent the DNA kit, take some hairs and send it back to them. Then on the papers it says DNA typed and parentage verifacation. So they must do both now.

I've never gotten parentage verifacation from just a DNA typeing. Only get the small sticker to put on the papers. If I do a parentage verifacation then I get both the DNA sticker and the parentage verifacation stamped on the papers.

Yes there is a difference between PV and DNA... the DNA is on the animal itself... the PV states that it is indeed from the parents ... You must have DNA on all AQHA horses... PV is an additional fee... That said I did request PV on an offspring of mine...as I do for all of them.... and AQHA asked for the papers back on the dam as she is now PV'd.

Sorry I do not understand why the OP is upset... to me this a good thing. In the future knowing AQHA/APHA include the shaved photos in the original registration package and you will get papers faster that way. :-)

To me this attention to detail is a good thing... it at least means they are trying to get it right.... for many years anyone could send in pedigrees with zero proof so to me any step to show that horses are really who they are is a great move in the right direct.

Haas I don't understand how you could possibly think im upset, because Im not, The title has a big o smiley face and I said I would gladly do it, I was just confused as to why they'd want me to do it cause I don't believe its even an inch in diameter-which I think is the regulation for white-correct me if im wrong. Matter of fact I already shaved it and poor boy has a 3 inch bald spot on his side
If you read my post you would see that Im just curious as to what would have happended if he had actually had pink skin. Would that mean we couldn't register him, or would he just have a negatory comment on his papers?
And this is the first time we've delt with aqha where they've had any attention to detail.

Actually you have a in your title, which makes it easy to make the assumption you are upset lol.

And there wouldn't be a negative comment and as long as the parents verify they'd let you register him. It would just point out that marking on his papers which would help identify him if he was ever stolen.

It does not matter how much white the horse has... if there are two AQHA parents... the horse gets AQHA papers... provided of course the breeding reports have been signed and filed.
