AQHA people (and whoever) - what do you think of this Western prospect

I am looking at this little mare for a Western horsemanship prospect. What do you guys think? Here is her ad: Spirit is built like a tank short and stocky at 14.2 hands. She has just been ridden five times and did not buck. All she needs is some training. I rode her August 2004 and did not ride her again until April 2005. She always takes up where you leave off. Spirit will make some one a real good horse. Current coggins, rabies and west nile. It also says on the website that she is incentive fund eligible, but I don't know if she is since she was born in 2002. Sorry the pics are little. I can't just insert them, so I am having to link to them and I can't figure out how to enlarge them.

She looks pretty nice from the pictures. She'll be a fun little project. I assume you have the skills to train her or a trainer to assist you. I think she's adorable though, I really like her face marking. If their asking a decent amount for her I'd say go have a look and try her out yourself.

Thanks so much, Petra. I would have 30 days' training put on her and then take it from there. I've put the mile on a lot of green horses, so the training would not be a problem. They are asking $1,200.

She is beautiful with wonderful conformation. Since she isnt trained, you can always sell her after you get her trained if she doesnt turn out the way you want and get more for her. Consider it an investment!

what exactly are you looking to do with her in the long run? Personally, Im not all that impressed. She is built, but I dont like her topline.

I agree, her conformation does little to impress me. Cant figure out what though. Western Horsemanship is a class where perfection is basically a must. Though its not supposed to be judged on the horse, of course it is to a certain degree.

The most important thing is Movement. You want something with slow legs, good impulsion from behind, flat knee'd and deep hocks.
