Even with the price drop, it was outrageous. I wish I could bring home a couple of the foals, but its way to expensive, especially for horses headed to auction in a week.

He's a looker, to be sure, but asking 10K for almost any horse today is crazy. I think gelding him and reducing the sale price would be giving him a better chance than sending him to auction Has anyone sent this to fugly horse of the day? These guys only have one day left before they are sent away, and sometimes exposure on FHotD can give them a better chance.

He IS a looker thats for sure. Just couldnt imagine spending that much on a stallion thats never done anything in the ring. ESPECIALLY if the person is as desperate to sell as these people are.

Wait, so these horses are going to an undisclosed auction? But their prices are still well over what they're worth? Why not give them to homes? That would reduce the herd soooo much faster and give them a better shot at a happy life. I feel terrible for the owners, but sending them to an auction with, I am 99% sure, meat men for MAYBE a little over $300 per horse AVERAGE should NOT be a last resort. Shame that it has come to this. I feel bad for the lady who has these horses and is making a hard decision, but an AUCTION is NOT a last resort! If these horses were at least given away, then the small population here in the US may just be able to afford to transport them here. I sure hope these horses are not sent to slaughter.

well they certainly will not get the prices they have on those horses from an auction, especially that stud. Even with the reduction on the mares, that's still way too high in this economy. 'undisclosed auction'. . in other words, we want to prey on your sympathy by threatening to send them to auction, but we won't say which one because we don't want you to wait and go bid on them there! Either that or it's a ruse and they won't go to auction at all, they are just using the tactic to get them sold. If it's an undisclosed auction, why mention it at all other than to try to guilt trip people into buying your horses?

that is so very sad but i'm with you all i think it's to make people feel
bad and to help their sales. i have seen many auctions and horses go
for nothing. and their adoption fees are crazy. when none of them have been
worked or handled.you can look at them, they will meet you and you can touch them .
but never been haltered or trailored since they got there which means they was herded up and ran on to the trailor so who knows what kind of injuries they might get or already have.
too much of a chance and risc taker for those prices if you ask me

Hmmm... does anyone remember The Animali Farm? These horses look familiar and The Animali Farm was a BIG TIME scam. Just like puppy mills, people were buying these foals because they felt sorry for the PMU babies and mares but were unkowingly being taken advantage of.
