I think that once he gets cleaned up and more fit he will be a very nice stud!

His foals are very loud and nice looking.

I know next to nothing about Fewspot appy's. Okay, nothing. LOL!

If YOU like him, buy him. And if he is not stallion material, you could always geld him. I had no idea those pics were taken by his current owner. It really looks like they are not doing much to show him off. Silly on their part.

I just think that unless everyone on this board know each and every horsebreed standard, I think opinions are just that. .Take it with a grain of salt and just go with what you like in this horse. Even if on the pictures he doesnt look like much now.. look at the overall picture and see behond the thick coat, mud etc..

He's a few spot appy... so he SHOULD produce color for you everytime you breed him - even to say... a warmblood mare. If he finished 6th in the world... there's nothing lacking in conformation - the pictures don't do him justice.

Temperment is impotant in Appies... make sure he's a willing one... kind and gentle is important too. Appies have a bad name for being 'sour', so a good quiet, willing one is worth it's weight in diamonds.

This guy is cute. What's his breeding?

Somewhere in this thread was a link to another message that had a link to his breeding it was not bad. A full brother to Goer on the top and Old foundation lines on the bottom with some really nice QH lines thrown in for good measure.

I posted earlier that I couldn't decide because I wanted better pics, but the more I think about it the more I like him. The fact that he will throw color every time is what I like best! There are too many solid Apps out there, I prefer my Apps with color! I know the breed isn't just about color, but that is one of the main things original Appies were bred for! His confo isn't bad, and it is harder to see under that winter coat (and layer of fat ;-) ) As others have said, he will be a great complement to the right mares!
