Appy foal coming, will we have spots or not?

I just saw another thread about color and patterns and now I want to know too. My guess is...

high white socks (hope not too high)
Sorrel
White blaze
and splash white on rump

Any one good with appy coloring and patterns?

He is Sire

Here is Mare

Good grief that mare reminds me of my mare!!!

Sire Lplp with varnish and a very small blanket Patn, possibly amped by sabino.

Dam Lplp with a very small blanket Patn, possibly amped by sabino.

My guess: Flaxen chestnut, stockings behind and medium sized blaze, very small frosty blanket, will varnish later in life.

Of course there is a chance you could end up with a snowcap or an LpLp roan.

the Sire was registered as a red roan with blanket by the original breeder but every year he gets lighter. The only way you can see his blanket now is when he's wet, his Sire was a few spot roan and his mother was a very dark bay if not black with varnish

I would love to see a pix of your mare ACC

I am thinking definitely roan.....w/blanket and two back white socks.
Not good at guessing color but since I am an extreme appaloosa fan, it will for sure be gorgeous!

How could they tell he was roan if he was fewspot?

It's not surprising he's roan then. lol

I'll post a pic of her later (after I get it downloaded from cam).

It's likely you will get characteristics and at a minimum roaning out later. but I'll bet you get a colored at birth foal that roans more later.

I've got this mare

in foal to this stallion

Foal due in March. I've pretty well considered the mare to be homozygous for LP due to the fact that she's had 6 foals in a row (former owner) from a QH stallion that were either colored at birth (5 of them) or roaned out later (one).

I promised this ages ago but as I have not been feeling well I've jot now gotten to it:

They may not look that similar to you, but I've seen her from all the angles and all different lights and when I saw your mare I though "gosh she looks like Classy". Mind you she is a rescue so is not heavy enough, fit enough and her feet are crud. Her color really does have more of that liver tinge to is usually, not sure why so orangey in these shots.

This was her in May:

WOW I do see the resemblance. It is amazing how they change every year. I love to see them when the shed out, it's always a surprise.
