Apple's foal - pictures and "who guessed right?" - original post edited

Huanani Won!

For a month I have stayed up nights & set my alarm to go off every 2 hrs.

Last night at 6:00 my alarm went off and I woke up to see Apple on the camera laying peacefully on her side. I watched for a minute and she was quiet, so I went back to sleep.

I was lounging in bed around 8 am, playing with my iPhone, when one of the cameras picked up a spotted horse OUTSIDE apple's stall.

From the brief shot I thought maybe Rusty was loose so I threw on my clothes and ran outside to see....

Apparently Apple had foaled up next to the gate of her stall- so close that the foal slipped right under and when he stood up he was outside!!! (In retrospect I think what I saw at 6am was her resting after delivery.)

He was dry and standing when I got out there so I got momma and baby together and they have just bonded wonderfully.

My house has been awash with people today out to see the new foal (Including Doublebarr!) so that's why photos took so long! Actually I'm just waiting for MORE guests to arrive, right now.

Apple's foal is named Macintosh.

Congrats!! I am thrilled that you got what you wanted and had healthy baby and mom!
