During the summers I give my horse a good spongebath using the ACV mixed with a bit of water. Helps get the sweat off and keeps the flys off without the whole bath episode. Just pour some in a bucket add some water and sponge over horse, then rinse horse with a little bit of water.... works great.

what do you use it for? Do you make fly spray using that recipe that was posted? I am curious because i have always wanted to try it.

I use it to rinse buckets after scrubbing them out (I just swish some around in there) because it keeps them from getting slimy. I do rinse it out well but I think the tiny subtle taste it leaves behind makes my horses less likely to mind drinking when we are somewhere else, as long as I rinse the bucket like I do at home.

The pasturized ACV I use at full strength. Takes longer, but also works real good.) As a Thrush buster to my clients whos Horsepals Hooves I find Thrushy. The Pasturized ACV is great to feed and use topically as well. All ours get it in their rice bran/Dynamite pretty nearly daily. It seems to keep the flies off them, and Id swear they get even more glowing coats from the addition of it. Just thought Id throw that in there. I wasnt sure that it could be used as an antiseptic tho! Great thread! Thank you!

O.K. so I am slow - When everyone is talking about giving this in their horse feed - are they talking about the Unpasturized ACV? Am I hearing you say that the pasturized is weaker in strength so would this adjust all the "amounts" that people are sharing dependant on if they are using pasturized or unpasturized?
