I recommend the use of ACV (Unpasturized if the local Healthfood store has it, but also the pasturized. I like the unpasturized because in my experience its just stronger and can be dilluted 70/30 with water to achieve quite fast results with no detrement to the Hoof. The pasturized ACV I use at full strength. Takes longer, but also works real good.) As a Thrush buster to my clients whos Horsepals Hooves I find Thrushy. The Pasturized ACV is great to feed and use topically as well. All ours get it in their rice bran/Dynamite pretty nearly daily. It seems to keep the flies off them, and Id swear they get even more glowing coats from the addition of it. Just thought Id throw that in there. I wasnt sure that it could be used as an antiseptic tho! Great thread! Thank you!

Wow amazing thread, i didnt know that it could be used for so many differernt things!
My old trainer used in the a 28 year old QH that i used in lessons for all of his aches and pains. And wow did i ever notice a difference in him after a while of having that! You could never tell how old he was after that, he acted like a 5 year old!
Amazing stuff really!

Heck, I take 1 Tbsp of ACV (the unfiltered kind, with the 'mother') daily myself and it's had amazing results with my knee pain. It even convinced my Dad to try it and his legs/knees are doing oodles better with it.

I've read that the enzymes in it just help the body as a whole, including arthritis. You just need to make sure it's the natural stuff, unfiltered, with the "mother" in it. Bragg's is the brand I use.

I used to use in in my water troughs all the time, it keeps the build up out...then...I just quit. I needed this reminder to pick some up I guess!

I love ACV! It does absolute wonders to their coats, general health and has improved Chip's arthritis to no end!

I'm not so sure about it's fly repelling ability though, my flies must just be tough. With them fed it every day I've seen no difference, even when sprayed with it.

Can you just put ACV in a spray bottle, then spray it on the horse? Or should you dilute it with water?
