Just be sure that you use unpasteurized and DO NOT use Distilled. Distilled ACV does not have the affects on animals like the non-distilled does.

Hehe.
I checked and it doesnt say if its distilled or unpasteurised (sp?)
It says:
Heinz
Pure Apple Cider Vinegar
Ideal for food.

So how do I know if its unpasteurised or distilled?

Sorry for all my questions... =]

I have purchased ACV I just need to remember to use it!

I'll have to see if what I got is distilled or not. I don't remember.

Thanks for posting this.

smaller meals more often also seems to serve the same purpose.

i find the the bug/fly conditions are moderately managed with ACV but i do not rely exclusively on it for total control.
Wowww that is REALLY interesting! Thank you for sharing that. I will definitely try to remember that lol. I should write it down somewhere.

Yes, I agree that ACV doesn't COMPLETELY get rid of flies, but I do find that if you use it in the right ways, it can really help.

I did not know Apple Cider Vinegar had so many benefits for horses!

Thank you all for the great information.

woohoo!! vinegar rocks!

It's not horsey related, but my grandmother would often have me mop with nothing but hot water and vinegar. It's pretty cheap (just regular dirt cheap white vinegar), doesn't leave any chemical residues, and works well as long as the floor isn't filthy. The smell is a bit strong at first but it clears up really quickly. I also use it periodically to clean my garbage disposal - it smells a lot better afterwards

I must admit I never knew it had so many applications outside of cleaning and food. When I finally get my own horse (someday... *sigh*) I will definitely have to work ACV into my regular routine! Thanks for all the great info everyone!

Does anyone know were to get the non-distilled/pasturized stuff? Can you find it in regular grocery stores or would you need to go to a natural food store? If this stuff is that good for horses I might try to work it into my diet. Maybe bugs won't like me as much then they certainly like me now

If only vinegar smelled like Pinesol or Fabuluso...I would use it on everything lol!

Hmmm...my GUESS would be to go to a natural/health food store like Sprouts .

Don't worry! You will get your horse someday with a lot of hard work. And then once you've soaked up all this knowledge from HGS, you can be an amazing horse owner too .
