Appaloosa Sport Horse

Alright girls (and guys if you are out there ) You've all seen pics of my App mare.....she's getting registered through the Appaloosa Sport Horse Association- which Accepts App/warmblood crosses. SO...I'm thinking, in 5-10 years, when I'm ready for my next sporthorse, I could breed Dawn to a nice Warmblood type stallion. What do you think and do you have any suggestions for a stud? (I know, there will be different ones then, but this is just for fun

i think breeding is always a good idea but needs researching first an thought through

i mean you have to consider your mare her age has she had foals before ect!

but i think being put to a nice warmblood could be good!

Absolutly! Many of you know I'm very picky about breeding (in most cases I don't like to encourage it) But, if I ever breed it will be for the sole purpose of producing my next show horse. My mare is 7 now, and I won't wait much further past 12 to breed her....and just the one time so I can have a foal out of her.

Thank you so much though for being one of the rare people that really understands that breeding isn't something to take lightly! Thanks Cass...

hey no problem

i no what you mean i am hoping to breed from my mare she is currently 15!

but was a broodmare so i have no worries of asking her to do it at this age as i think she has qualified already for being a great mum

i mean if she isnt capable of having at this age i think nature will tell us by not letting her get pregnant in the first place!

fingers crossed it will happen soon though i dont want to leave it any later than next spring!

Not adding to the breeding problem.

Might I add- because many of you know my very strong feelings on inappropriate breeding. This would be the ONLY time I breed and for the SOLE PURPOSE of creating MY NEXT SHOW HORSE which would NOT BE SOLD.

Wanted to add that so I don't look like a hypocrite- many of you have seen my posts and know how I feel about breeding.
