APHA Help

http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/sweet+medicine+man

Can anyone tell me what his breeding is? I am not familiar with the Paint bloodlines.

Are there any cutters or reiner's in there?

Also, should he be tested for HYPP since he has Impressive on his papers?

Thanks

Can't tell you much about the pedigree, but testing for HYPP would be a very good idea.

I told the owner that the next time the vet's out, to get her to take a blood sample, and now he's all freaked out.

I am trying to reassure him, but so far it's up in the air.

If anyone else can give any info on the bloodlines, that would be great.

Thanks

No need to draw blood. It's a hair test. Nothing to get too worried about, the most he can be is N/H. As far back as Impressive is int he pedigree that has been plenty of chances to breed out and he very well may be N/N. Even if he isn't, lots of N/H horses do fine. :-)

I saw the name and thought for sure he was a brother to my 4 year old gelding! I bred my mare to a Paint stud named Eyes A Medisin Man...

Sorry I can't help on what he's bred for... I'm sure someone on here will know though.

I'm thinking he might be ok, but I'm still going to recommend that he be tested. This is his first horse, and just want him prepared, just in case.

Just a question, but the horse's granddam's parents are listed as QH and Finnish Warmblood. How can it the granddam be AQHA? Well looking back, I don't know for sure if she was.....

I noticed that as well. I was thinking how a Warmblood got thrown in the mix, but it's not like she can be traded in for a QH or Paint. LOL.

Thanks to all that have offered their help. Are there anymore Paint people out there that can help with his papers? The more info, the merrier.

Thanks

As usual All Breed had the wrong information. I corrected it and emailed you a copy of the pedigree. There was nothing on the pedigree that means anything to me so you will have to ask someone else as I am not familiar with any of those horses.
