APHA/AQHA stallions

I need help finding APHA or AQHA registered stallions to look at for Mona. She was bred once (at least) to an AQHA and has a colt on the ground now. But, I'd like to look for fun for the possibility of finding a nice one.

I check my AHA magazine for Arab stallions, but they dont show Paint or QH stallions.

What kind of Quarter Horse stallion are you looking for? Bull-dog build, or more refined? What are you looking for the stallion to be bred for?(example: reining, western pleasure, barrels, ect) Are you looking for an specific names to be on the stallions pedigree?(example: a grandson of Hollywood Jac 86, a great grandson of Poco Bueno, a grandson of Doc Bar, ect)
On many searches, they allow you to put in a name that is in that stallions pedigree.....so if you are looking for a specific horse, to be in that stallions pedigree.....they will only pull out the stallions with that horse in their pedigree. Also, is your mare a Quarter Horse? Some people are picky, when and if they breed to your mare....they want to stick with breeding only to Quarter Horses(if their stallion is a Quarter Horse).

The Equine Chronicle, QH Journal and Paint horse journal all have annual stallion issues that you can also look at for stallion prospects. But first you need to decide what event you want to pursue so you can look for studs that excell in that event.

This is also very true...we wont breed our studs to any mares that aren't QH or Paint, we've even turned down breedings if the mare was not of a quality to be bred.

She's reg. w/ the APHA and she's a BS Paint(sorrel). But, she's not a pure paint horse. Her reg. papers have QH's and Paint horses in it. Her sire is a Paint horse, but her dam is a QH.

I'd use the foal for HUS and Hunters, that's why in my other post, all the stallions do Hunters.

Do you want a paint baby?

Do you want a Breeding stock?

That will determine what you want to breed to. You may get lucky and when breeding to a QH get a paint baby, but the outlook isn't good. If you want color... def breed homozygous paint to get it!
