APHA/AQHA bloodlines

I don't know much about paint or QH bloodlines, just wondering what are everyone thoughts on these? the horse is registered paint, but there are some QHs in there as well.

Shire:
Brewers Choice

Dam:
Jakes Lady Bert

Thanks

Well there are two offspring from that combination...

1995 Stallion BREWERS BLUE BERT Blue Roan Solid who has no offspring...

1994 Stallion BREWERS MIDNIGHT Gray Overo who has several offspring... this stallion looks like it could be HZ for the black gene...

2002 Stallion DOCS MIDNIGHT OIL Gray Solid DOCS CANDY DAWN QH
2001 Mare MURPHS FANCY PANTS Bay Overo MURPHYS COWGIRL QH
2000 Mare MIDNIGHTS PUNKIN Black Solid MURPHYS COWGIRL QH
2000 Mare LEAP STAR Black Solid MURPHS KID QH
1999 Mare MIDNIGHTS YO YO Gray Solid MURPHYS COWGIRL QH
1998 Stallion BREWERS APACHE Brown Solid LADY BAR APACHE PT
1998 Stallion PAINTED SWORD Gray Overo THREE SWORDS QH

I could not find out much information on any of the horses listed. There was nothing about any of the pedigrees that WOW'd me.

Thanks. I didn't think there was anything special about his bloodlines, I don't think any of those horses have show records either. Do you think they are just general ranch work bloodlines?

No show records... and I would wonder if any of the horses were even broke to ride. Those bloodlines remind me of many of the remuda lines that have stallions and mares running on the mesa and are gathered up once a year and the offspring are sold with little or no handling.

What are you trying to figure out?

Hmm I'd like to learn more about remuda lines you just mentioned. Why aren't the horses ridden? They are just used for breeding? I was just curious about the bloodlines for Brewers Midnight. It seems he has some training in reining, but it doesn't seem like he comes from reining bloodlines. I've never ridden a professional reining horse before though.

Not picking an argument, but lack of show/race records don't always mean that the horse was never broke.

I've seen some great reg. Paints & QH horses that were excellent performance horses in the rodeo arenas and ranches that won't show a point to their names because they were never raced or shown in a AQHA or APHA show.

Not every breeder is "point" oriented - some just want to raise athletes that will take them to the pay window or help gather a couple hundred head of yearlings heifers out of the hills.

Different strokes for different folks.

Take care.

I was not excuding that... I was just talking about those who own large herds of horses and just breed them...

If Brewers Midnight has reining training he was never shown NRHA... BTW there is a miniture stallion and a harness horse by the same name.

Do you know where this stallion is now?

Yup in his paddock, just got back from a ride

Actually he's not a stallion anymore I think he was gelded quite a while ago, anyway it'd be pretty cool to know what his offspring are like.

Well I googled the names of all the offspring and could find nothing... Checked on APHA and none have offspring.
