Cool Anyone have a Foundation QH?

I had Echo tied up yesterday so I took the chance to step back and really look at her. It's actually quite funny because she's foundation bred, 84%, but she's ssoooo lean! I thought foundation quarter horses were more of the boxey type: like the bulldog conformation. I mean I could be wrong but I thought that's what they were trying to preserve with like the NFQHA & such. I'm sure someone on here has got to have a Foundation Quarter Horse or at least know someone who does.........or am I just special? LOL jk about the special part of course. Oh and don't forget foundation Paints: they have those too, believe it or not.

She's cute. Funny: our horses have nothing in common on their papers.

All of our Quarter Horses are registered in the FQHA(Foundation Quarter Horse Association). That is what we breed for, Foundation registered/eligable, cow/reining bloodlines. (If we are going to be keeping the foals we will have them registered in the FQHA also...so far we havent registered any of the 2004 foals, that we have, in the FQHA as of yet, but we will be doing that soon.) With the exception of our palomino mare, who is in the 70 percent range...and is un-eligable for the FQHA registry. However, although she may not be our highest mare as far as foundation percentage, she has the typical bulldog build. Huge hip, wide chest, just a nice stout mare. You can see pictures of all of our horses at our website

That picture was taken right after she turned 2. My farrier thinks she's going to look like Cody, a horse I know: he's really stocky and built. But from the way she's growing, I'm thinking not. She's got a powerful forehead but very slender hips.

It's pretty confusing. It's really just math; there's sites you can go to to figure it out. I found out Echo's dam's percentage(it was listed on her ad ) and then calculated her sire's by finding the grandsires and then the great grandparents on the other side and then etc. etc. LOL I guess to make if official you send in $15 and the pedigree to NFQHA and they'll do it for you.
