Angry Anuther Horse Being Abuesed

I was ridding to day and I rode by this feld that had two horses in it. When I was ridding by I notice that one of the horses had it leg wraped up. So I rode closer just to look at its leg. The poor horse had a broken leg. It was twisted all wrong the way a horses leg should not turn. I think it is abuse becaus they put tape on his leg. Yes I sade tape. I do not think a vet would put tape on a horses leg if it was broke. I am go to see if I can get in tuched with a lady I met that rescus horse so that she can go out and look at the poor horse. When ever the horse tried to walk his leg would beend under and he would walk on his nee bucase it could not handle the wate of his body. And to top it all off he is skinny as well. They had a bell of hay but it is haygrazer. Which is not good for horses. I just hope that the lady will wright me back and hellp that poor horse. I wll keep you all updated on the horse and let you all know what hpeens to it. It makes me so angree when pepole tret there horses like this. I hope the get in truble for what they have done.

I wouldn't waste anytime. Call your local animal shelter or whatever. It sounds to me like the horse might need to be put down. I know its sad...but true. The break sounds very bad and who knows how long its been like that.

I agree with Serendipity. Call the local animal shelter or the local sheriff and tell them what is going on. They can come look at the horse and see if it needs to be put down. Sometimes putting an animal down out of mercy is better than letting it suffer and hoping that it will get better.

If the leg is broke and has been broke for more than 24 hours then there is little chance that they can set it without putting it through a lot more pain. It may be better to put it down.

I also agree that this is abuse! The horse should have gotten immediate attention from it owner and a vet if there is a chance that the leg is broke! Calling the sheriff will get the owners in trouble if the leg is broke and the horse is suffering.

That definately sounds like a case of neglect. In obvious cases like that, I would definately call the SPCA! They have been called for less.

That is so sad.. I hate to see horses so neglected like that. We need more people like you in the world who actually help!
It's good that you contacted the owner, but you could also contact a humane society of some sort because it's a case of neglect. My parents did that one time when they saw a beautiful dog being left for weeks alone and eating their leftover pasta. =S

yep if its twisted and flapping in the breeze like you described then theres not much to be done but to give it a syringe of "the green dream" and end its pain.that makes me sick to the stomach reading about that kind of ignorance.

Smile

Did you go knock on the owners door and inquire about the horse?
If not did you go get one of your parents or another adult and ask them to go with you to this person't house to ask about these horses?
While I am not saying that things are not as you saw them, I do think that contact should first be made with the owners of the horse/s to see just what the situation is from their point of view.
Then, and only then, should other steps be taken...if necessary.
Sometimes things might look one way, but really be another.
People should be given the benefit of doubt...as in "innocent until proven guilty"......until you have enough information to prove otherwise.
The simple act of knocking on a door could have provided you with enough information to make an "INFORMED" decision as to the REAL nature of this situation.
From what you posted, if I had saw what you say you did, I would have been knocking on a door. If a horse is is that sort of shape then it needs immediate help and assistance. If the owner was not home or home but willing to take care of the horse then I would be calling the necessary people who would take the necesary action...starting with the police.
