Coming 14 year old TB mare. About 15.3/16h tall, all bay. Not a spot of white on her anywhere. She had been purchased at 6 months to keep another horse company. The owners never did anything with her other than groom her, sometimes keep her UTD on shots/etc. One summer they saddled her up and gave each other pony rides just leading her around her paddock. She is however completely unbroke/untrained. I got her from them for free, and intented to train her to ride...but she is at the end of a list of projects that I have, and she really has potential for someone. She is very smart, actually secretly likes being worked with. She does have some attitude and can be stubborn, but she's a sweet girl. She tends to be low horse in the herd. She has been UTD on shots, farrier since I got her. I'd really like to see her go to someone that can work with her to train her. She is not registered, and there are plenty of unwanted horses in the world, so I'd prefer that you not want to breed her. I'd like her to go to a permanent new home, and would like to offer a few month trial period to make sure you're happy with her and to make sure she'll be well taken care of. Kind of like free lease for a few months, then if all is going well, she'll become yours. Currently located in Rising Sun, MD. Will be moving to Cochranville, PA mid-Jan. Please email me to come meet her. beck4321@aol.com We moved 2 weeks ago and are now located in Cochranville, PA (SE PA). Lucy is still available to a good home. So far only one person has even come out to meet her, but they aren't sure they can afford board for a horse yet. ![]() Lucy is a really sweet girl after she gets to know you. She isn't keen on new people, but does warm up (until then, she sometimes threatens to bite and threatens to kick - doesn't follow through). Although she is not broke to ride, she does know how to lunge. I've only lunged her once, and she did ok - although it was in an indoor and she kept stopping at the window to look at her friends outside. I think that fairly quickly she could learn to be a trail horse if she was following a friend. She would obviously need someone experienced to train her, but she is sound and doesn't have any physical limitations - other than she has never been ridden and would need to get her muscles built up to balance with a rider. Lucy is smart and worth the effort to get her trained. Please let me know if you'd like to come meet her. If things ever didn't work out, I'd be happy to take her back
