Thanks guys! I am trying to remain positive. Here is the ad for the roan, sorry, she is 11. I have already asked Julie if she would be ok for my daughter as Julie knows me and said that she would be fine. I have asked her for a video and pictures although I did see one on FB. Cute mare but may need too much work to be show ready.

That's interesting that they call her dead broke, light mouthed, fun to ride etc but list her temperament at a 5? Just from that... is seems to me like she'd be a little much for your daughter and not as good of a teacher. It's nice, though, that's she is close enough to check out and that you have connections. You can never tell everything from a sales ad!

I questioned that too, I haven't placed an ad with Dreamhorse but maybe that is the default and she never changed it, who knows. But I do trust Julie to be honest with me as she has in the past. And she even has a Bob's custom saddle for sale, in my price range! I am trying to get a video of that mare.

I want to hear about the saddle! I can live vicariously. Since my hubby won't let me saddle shop right now....

FWIW, I like the sorrel better than the roan.

Honestly, I like the Getin Along Famously mare. For a child, I think she will do well. Sent video off to my trainers to see if they like her or not, just out of curiousity, as they have been in this for years now.

I know much can be improved on with any horse through training and conditioning, but the attitude, and pleasant disposition can not be trained into a horse, if it isn't there already. That is the most important when you are wanting something for a child.

Will go look at others you have put on here too.

    Thanks Meljean!

I found another gelding in Scottsdale. Awaiting pictures and video. He is 17 and done quite a bit of AQHA showing and reasonably priced. That is all I have on him right now but the owner is suppose to be getting back to me with more details.

All she has said is that it is a 16" seat and basket weave. I am seeing if she can send pictures and more details like the year and model. It is suppose to be a Bob's custom cutting saddle and she has is priced at $1500 so within the range I wanted to spend. Not a big fan of cutting saddles as I always seem to hit my wrist on the taller horns on them but it is worth looking at.

And I too like the sorrel better but like the price on the roan!

Ok, so on the gelding. He hasn't been shown in quite sometime. The guy that is selling him is basically selling his dad's horses as the father recently passed away. The gelding is a 1995 AQHA. He was bought by the father at the 1999 AQHA World Show sale for $6000. His name is IR A Flasher. I couldn't get anything to come up on allbreed so I will have to wait until I get home to check out the AQHA website. He said he does have points but couldn't remember in what. The guy said he was a super gentle easy going horse and thought he would be perfect for 4h, actually said he would still be very competitive in the AQHA shows as well after a tune up of like 30 days. Someone else was very interested in him but couldn't come up with the $ and this gelding is only priced at $2500. He doesn't have any video or pictures but was going to see if the barn guys could get some as he is located in a different city. This one probably won't last very long at this price but I won't buy a horse site unseen without trying him out so not certain this one will happen. I told the guy I would try to get up there but didn't expect to be able to make it up until after Christmas and that I would call before to see if he was still available or not. Probably missing the boat on this one but if it is meant to be, things will work out, either with this one, the other mare, or a different horse.

Anyone want to look him up on the AQHA website for me??

^I checked it out on AQHA; he's by Radical Rodder and out of Ima Flashy Squaw. He was show in 2000 in WP and HUS...no points. Then shown in 2003, has 1.5 WP points in Novice Amateur.
