She could, but it would take 4" of qualifying white. I'm not sure the right side of her face is enough and the body spots aren't... unless she has a belly spot.

meh, i dont think i'd want her without knowing her bloodlines. i know i could do the HERDA and HYPP tests, but i dont see myself breeding for a color registry and not a bloodline registry. too much chance of a non-registerable foal there. and with the market the way it is, no thanks. she's not rideable as it stands, she limps off and on with arthritis (as told to me by the owner) in a front leg that's been vet checked.

I'm almost positive she could, since the line is drawn from the outside corner of the eye to the mouth. Not that it really matters though

You may be right. My eyes are bad at measuring. I just can't tell if there's 4" worth there.

She definantly looks silver to me and I would be pretty shocked if she's not. Dont throw out silver because she threw a red foal. It's quite possible she carries a red gene under the silver. My rocky was chestnut and both parents were chocolate but father carried a red gene.. and out popped teddy.. chestnut as can be. He had a half brother by the same stud on the property when we bought him that was chestnut and they have a stud colt for sale right now by the same stallion, that is chestnut.

According to my horse color book, this mare is a taffy color.

The Aussies tend to call it Taffy, while we tend to call it Silver
