...as for critiquing their horsekeeping, i did some editing. not asking for horsekeeping comments, so post edited. thank you for the help of keeing this thread on track.


on a side note, i sent a message just a few minutes ago to ask if the mare is registered, and if so, if she'll get me the names of her sire and dam to help determine her color. waiting on a reply.

You can post what you want. I was simply reminding everyone that these pictures are of horses not owned by the OP. The thread was quickly moving towards the negative. Even if you have permission to take pictures you do not necessarily have permission to post them and discuss them publicly. The owner owns the horse's likeness even if you own the copyright of the photo itself.

A "statement of fact" is a funny thing and not always legally viewed as acceptable. Given the mare's unique look it would not be unrealistic for someone to recognize her from this thread -- recognized under certain circumstances what is said here could feasibly affect the owner at a later date. It's a thin line to walk. You can do what you feel is best. I was simply pointing out the potential issues that may arise as the thread progresses.

NEAT mare! I actually love her name. It makes her even more adorable. I would be very interested in finding out her pedigree info if her owner has it.

She definitely *could* be silver. I have seen quite a few known silvers with that same caramel looking colored base coat. She reminds me of this guy:



And, her face markings remind me very much of Angel...

I don't believe that written permission is required. I mean who is checking... the permission police? I believe that as long as verbal permission is given its not an issue. I have posted friends horses in the past and not had an issue and had verbal consent.

wow we are getting into verbal and written consent of posting pics and info on horses by owners Then i guess all the pics you get off google as well as horses you take pics of while driving down the road or at a farm you might want to think twie and get permission. You completly took it off track. She wasn't bashing them or anything just posted pics and info and if she got verbal permission then that is fine you don't need to see to make sure she is telling the truth and she stated she email the owners for the names of the horses and is waiting for a reply

email reply said that they dont know if she's registered or not, that she was acquired in a trade. they're trying to get rid of the stud that's turned out with her, so if anyone wants a cute grade bay stud, she told me to get the word out. i told her i'd be interested in Luscious if she's registered. hopefully she'll find some papers or something.

If she can't find papers on her, she *may* be eligible for Pinto registration. I'm not sure what their stance is on unknown pedigrees but it could be worth a shot.
