Thumbs down And she bucks...

Well, Well, Well, Trix has now started to buck...alot. Today she bucked three times at a trot, 2 big bucks at a canter, and then started to buck when I wanted her to canter. BUT the weird thing is, is that a week ago she never ever even thought about bucking, then a week later she starts to buck! she started this whole bucking thing on wend or thurs. I am worried it might be a pain thing. Why do you think she just decided "hey I think ill buck!"

Hmmm...if you have the money, have a chiro check her out. When I checked my mares back, she wasn't sore at all...when HE checked for back...WOW! She was sore....then he gave her an adjustment, and she didn't flinch when he checked it again. Apparently he has the 'touch' lol. I'd try her for another week or so and see if it gets worse, stays the same, or gets better. Just don't get hurt!! :-) That's what I hate about seeing if they're "just feeling an unually high amount of oats." Be nice if they could just tell you why they were doing it.....

How well does your saddle fit?

Is her mouth sore?

Girth pinching?

I think you're right to think that it's a pain thing, they won't usually start something unless they are in pain, unless she's just being a stubborn whatsit.

My old horse started to buck. he was in no pain, just irrated that i say hey buddy lope the otehr direction now. And teh first time he started he didnt stop. He i guess thought it was fun. Luckiy my horse(who i figured out, bucks like the broncs at the rodeo*when she in her pasture, i watch it she can get all four fett so high off the ground and boy can she buck.* Im so happy she doesnt sdo it with me) But my old horse figured out it was fun, by doing it once. I wasnt the owner for him, I wanted *and now have* a horse who I dont have to wrok for an hour everyday. Who i can just have a fun day and let them at grass for an hour and brush them, and have a no work day. A horse that if it was raining for a week, i know i can just go catch him on the next good riding day with no worries. My old horse, wanted a home that will work him, and not be owned by me, because i like to just go out there and lay with them and such. He just wanted to be worked, and worked hard. He wanted a job. But he still throws a few bucks every now and then just because its fun for him.

But make she she isnt in any pain( i think you said you already checked her) If she isnt in any pain, I would work teh heck out her. I would let her know , if you have engery to buck, you have plently of energy to lope about the arena for a long time. Thats what i would do if i knew they werent in pain. But im sure its not this isnt the proper taining method, but it had helped my old horse(the person we sold him to, works him and he hasnt bucked since she had him, but she did free lunge him and he bucked, but i will not have a horse i have to lunge before i ride,) But good luck, Im not sure if you ave a trainer and what leval your riding skills go to, but maybe it owuld help to get a trainer on her?

this osunds so weird coming from a person who has a horse who bucks and rears and takes off running, but i dont know i cnat explain it, i laugh at him and tell him thats all you got come on bring it. He a funny boy but i trust him, he doesnt do it to be mean it does it because i alugh at him and not get mad. But he tends to get really sore in teh winter(cold) and when i can ride him again it like a person who hasnt been abel to walk because of pain (he can still walk , but i can tell he tries to keep off his feet) and tehn all the sudden, they can walk again. and hey can have no pain and be able to run again.

When they buck, turn them and lay that whip nice and hard on the lower neck or shoulder. They will learn you are not going to stand for that silly behavior.
Its not a sore back issue its a discipline issue. All my horses pick up that little habit of bucking at the begining. As soon as they do that ill lay that whip in on them good. Thats the last time they buck. Make them think that what they do next with out permission may be the wrong thing to do.

How much are you feeding her? If you're feeding her the amount that I think you are, it should have nothing to do with it.

Which horse is this? Is this while riding or while lunging?
