An unbelievable update

I know I just posted yesterday a one month update on Treasure, my rescue mare. Well today my trainer came out and said she'd gained enough weight to put her in sidereins on the lunge, and to see how she does under saddle. Needless to say, I found out just what a TREASURE this mare is. I'm still in shock, the good kind!!!

As a reminder...this was her on May 15th two days before I got her..

Keep in mind this mare hasn't been ridden in over a year, and before that the only training she had that I know of off the track was riding on trails. I'm in shock at how nicely she went! The neighbor even chose this morning as we started lunging her to decide to use his electric saw next the fence to make a ******** boat, and she never even flicked an ear in that direction. She was all business, and really enjoyed the work!!!

She looks lovely under saddle and seems to enjoy her work. I think you've indeed found a Treasure! Congratulations, and please keep us updated on her progress.

I am so happy with her. Usually when I get a rescue in I make myself promise that I won't fall too much in love (it's always hard to see them go though and you can't help saving a special spot in your heart for each of them). However, since my older gelding has heaves and can only be lightly ridden, I am in NEED of a new dressage mount. Looks like Treasure will certainly be it! She isn't going ANYWHERE. She has a lifetime home here.

Oh and Goonhorse she is an OTTB.

That's so neat! You'll have to post LOTS more pictures of her as her training and health progresses.

I thought she was probably a TB--she's very typey.

Wow you did a fabulous job with her!! Keep us updated on her. I'm really curious to see how she looks when she's all muscled up. She's a beautiful mare!!!

Stunning! It is great that you were able to see how she rides and such. I am looking forward to seeing how she looks with even more weight put on!

OTTBs really do seem to make great riding horses.
