All you tall people... help?

Ok so my SO is tall. Very tall. He's about 6'1. Needless to say he makes my 15" western saddle look like a pony saddle. I'm wondering for you tall people what size saddle would you all recommend? He's not big, I would say his butt almost would be fine in my 15" but his legs are just too long. So would a 16" be good or is there a certain kind of brand anyone would recommend?

Thanks!

My former trainer was 6'7" . He rode in a 22" cutback saddle for saddleseat. For breaking horses he had a 16.5" western saddle.

Well the 15" didn't feel right to him but I don't have a 16" or anything else for that matter for him to try so I am trying to see what everyone else has as suggestions.

Thanks guys! I can always count on HGS to help me out

I use a 16" cutting saddle and it fits me great. I am almost 6ft tall and this saddle acutally makes me look smaller.

I'm 5'11", 205 and just ordered a 19" saddle (English). The equivalent in Western would be about 17". I arrived at that size with both the help of an online calculator at horse.com as well as sitting in a LOT of saddles at local tack shops. Results from a calculator, etc., are always a starting point....tazassape is correct that what feels correct (and what gives correct balance) is what is best to ride in.
