NO, they will fix it NO CHARGE, it is a lifetime gaurantee! As long as you are the original owner, and can come up with proof of purchase. Gosh don't throw it out...yikes.

Just came back from the saddle shop, and there was a gal in there with a broken flex point...dang. Saddle was 3 years old, no clue as to how long it had been broken, only on one side.

You don't have to be the original owner and you don't need proof of purchase. I asked those questions specifically to the Wintec company when I bought my Bates Isabelle used. If it's their saddle they will fix it no questions asked.

bump

For anyone buying used Wintec English, see this thread. A saddler there said don't bother fixing the flex points.
http://www.ultimatedressage.com/foru...ec+flex+points

quote: "The saddle is actually perfectly safe, just get a pair of pliers, rip off the broken bits and pull out any leftover staples, reassemble the thing and ride.. If you do want the extensions back, take the thing to a shoemaker and ask him to cut out matching shaped tabs from a leather shoe sole blank and staple it back onto the tree point."

Is it just the changable gullets or all wintecs?

I don't know. All the posts I read referred to the changable ones.

It only applies to the interchangeable gullet saddles.

How to tell if CAIR panels can be shimmed or not

Wintec CAIR saddle panels are shimmable if the CAIR button is attached with screws. Otherwise, have to use flocking only.
