![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | All About the Tap Ok here we go, There was this like this one time at Horsecamp, Where people post stuff about horses, And there were many very wise horse people there, But some were like very negative and harsh to some people, Then one day someone posted something that could help people, And alot of people were reading this post and using their own experinece to decide if it was helpful or not, But that wasn't good enought for a some , And even though he said "lets help each other" they bashed his theory anyway, And because they couldn't debate like mature adults, the thread was closed, Now a lot of people are sitting on the fence still undicided, So they must contact him by mail where he is waiting, This all started because at Horsecamp, He posted that he rode a thoroughbred yearling, And they said that was too young, But they was this other time at Horsecamp, I remeber seeing this movie, about a TRUE story about a racehorse named "Seabiscuit" Who was broken-in as a yearling too, like every other thoroughbred racehorse running around the country, Because the biggest money races are for two year olds, And many owners have a dream they can win millions of dollars in a just few minutes, But many people at Horsecamp, did not know this, Plus, he has only 5 months to get unsold yearlings to run about 10.8sec for 200m, that's his job, But they still thought riding a yearling that was 2 y.o next month was cruel, Anyway, he said turning a horse's head would make it "sleepy", And some people didn't know this, and now they do, And it's their choice if the want to try this, Because you are never to old to learn, And even though they agreed turning a horse's head does make them "sleepy" They didn't agree on why because it hasn't been researched enough to give a scientific answer, But they could still use it now instead of waiting for the answers that are comming in the not too distant future, There was also this one time on Earthcamp, When tobacco companies were selling things that were bad for you, And when the research was done and they found it was bad, They kept it from the people anyway, and kept selling them, Also, researchers think that radiation from mobile phones could be linked to conditions ranging from cancer to blood clots in the brain, But phone companies are still selling too, ![]() So, back to Horsecamp, We see companies are selling products that are bad for you, before the research is done, So is it such a crime to share something that could HELP people before research that IS in the pipeline, is done ? So I ask the interested people at Horsecamp to give him a chance, Because we could actually learn something new.. Anyone seen " Tonto " ? |

I know the racing industry runs horses young - and now your horse is upgraded to very nearly two. Even the racing industry doesn't break in yearlings - they start them as long yearlings, i.e. nearly two. You probably wouldn't have got jumped on so much if there wasn't the perception of this wee year old horse getting ridden, inaccurate though it may be. And... well people are always going to disagree. There will always be criticism, especially of unproven ideas and methods. If you can adress the criticism and answer all questions asked and points raised about the issue, then kudos to you. Anyway, hope this thread doesn't start up the debate again, else it will be closed also. Good luck! | |

![]() ![]() | Oh.....That's where you are wrong my friend ! He definitely would.... I work near the guy and have seen him in action, he is awesome.. There is around 200 riders at that Yearling Training Centre he rides at and NOBODY can get near him.. He CAN and WILL ride ANYTHING and do it easy..I'm not Japanese and I bow to him..he taught me how to get our yearlings to run times without going sore in the short time we have. His yearlings are bomb-proof and the legs are always sound because he only does the work they need, not like all the other farms who train yearlings like machines. I told him this would happen because he purposely left things off his profile to give normal horse people confidence. Trainers send him horses from Tokyo to Hokkaido where he is to "Tap" because the foreigners are not allowed in the Japanese racecorses to ride. He can ride any style irons short or long, nobody has seen him dropped.. The people that bashed him have no idea what they have done.. And the sad thing is he will still help you... ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | "We see companies are selling products that are bad for you, before the research is done"............ isn't this what you are doing? Have you researched the link between excess endorphins and depression in humans? can this be quantified as not being applicable to horses? You have failed to reply/answer the questions that have already been asked but come back with silly stories trying to martyr yourself as the oppressed genius. Please treat this forum and the people on it with more respect. Go away and do the research and come back with the full story and the reception will probably be a lot less hostile.Don't post "lets all be friends and work together" then attack anyone that questions you,it does nothing for your credibility.I also find it amusing that you would try and sell this for pocket money if you are so highly reveered in your local area, why not just charge more for what you do so well? P.S. get in touch with Pat's pr people they may be able to market this "tap" and yourself successfully. Cheers Bud |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Tobbaco use is a choice we HUMANS make.. The training we force on Horses is not a choice the horses make. BIG difference!!! |

I personally will not buy anything until I have seen it proven, and a quick trip to someone else's farm ONE time to see if it works is not proof enough for me. I want to see long term results before I spend my hard-earned money. You coming on the forum and acting all 'high and mighty' will get you no where here or anywhere else for that matter. If you want to sell this product, finish the research and then promote it - actually you should hire a PR person to market it for you until you can come down of your 'high horse'. BTW, you got slammed because of your c*o*c*k*y attitude. If you tone it down, people will be more apt to listen to your opinion Beth Last edited by BuddyPalAmiga : 12-17-2005 at 06:43 AM. I really hope it it the next big breakthrough in the training industry, and proves to save horses the stress of being broken/trained to ride. One thing I can pretty much assure you about the members here on the forum, is that anyone who rides a yearling is not going to be accepted with much credibility. Most understand riding a long yearling is a common practice with the racing industry. There is also evidence that doing so is very unhealthy for a horses back. If this process was working successfully with 7 year old Mustangs, the acceptance here might be easier to relate to. |
