Why my horse did not go down? I was holding his head for 4-5 min. When I tried to put his legs more together or put more weight on one leg, he swung his hindquarters to the side. As I said before I think he got heavier.

Clever horse, there are a few thinkers around but as long as you keep their head turn it doesn't mater what they do, they only use up more of the own energy.

The more they move around the quicker this works, that why the scatter brains go down so quick because they run backward for a couple of metres and then realise OMG I shouldn't have done that..and lie down to rest, I just stick with them keeping their heads turned becuase I know they are going to run out of fuel..

That's why I say to their shift weight a bit, to work their legs a little..

It doesn't take long to work your own horse out.

Just practice..

Good luck..

Ok, so first of all, i would like to erase everything bad i ever said about this idea. Now i had some questions, and i asked them, i check out the website, and really it sounds awesome, and im am really excited to try it on Maddy, any nervous horses, or even at a show in their stall if you just do this for a couple mins. and then you release they become calm, and appreciative. Im really excited to try this, and i am so happy i learned about this method, insted of just bashing it like alot of you have done, with out even looking into it. i agree its wrong to ride a yearling, but that wasnt the point. please any of you that just bashed him and his theory, look at the website, Pm him, just learn about it, if you still dont agree thats fine, but i erally encourage you to look into it before getting angry.

OK, I will try it again on my horse.
I would also like to try on my other horse, because he is not lazy (very playfull 2.5 year old). I never did lateral flexion with him. He is very nibble. What to do if he tries to bite be or just nibble (he might do it all the time)?

You will not believe this.
I was watching a horse auction today, and they were warming up horses before the actual sale. This Amish fellow got off, stood beside the horse and pull his neck to the off side and held his head there, and started rocking his horse. Sure enough, down went the horse. Everyone oooo'ed and aaahhhh'ed over it, like it was some trick. But I knew better!!! He did the tap!!!!

I was like....amazing.

cowgurl, if you go back a few pages, I posted pictures of me tapping my horse. I'll assure you that it's mostly safe, and if your horse trusts you there shouldn't be many problems. Scoot is almost 3, and he didnt even fight me. He held his head there for me.

I found out some interesting things about this. We are taking care of my friend's horses this weekend. She has a 5 yr old morgan gelding who is very sweet but pushing, I tried it on him and could not get him to bend his head (in his halter) he fought and fought. I tried it on Isabel who is hot and sensitive and she just turned her head right around and then tried to nibble the rope, I wonder if trust has anything to do with it?
I've ridden the morgan before though? Still cool though

This is the reason I like using a bridle, because their neck musscles are just too strong.

You won't win a power contest with them, but you can out smart them by keeping slight pressure the side you want to turn to and waiting till they relax their neck mussles. They will turn then..

Time....not power

Good luck..
