Ouch, Ouch and one more BIG OUCH!! You are so very, very lucky you didn't get hurt even worse than you are - and that looks bad.

Even if this horse can ever be brought back to being a safe, usable trustworthy animal through training and/or veterinary/chiro help -- this is NOT a horse to be handled by inexperienced unsuspecting people. Even a professional more than likely would not take on an animal that now is known to attack a human. As the saying goes, there are too many good ones out there to take a chance on something with this history.

Please tell your friend to not take any more chances with this horse. I don't have the answer either. That decision will have to be made by the owner but sooner rather than later before someone else suffers an injury that will be life threatening.

Dusty, the original or should I say (second owner) of the horse is coming out tomorrow to pick her up & take her back. I have a bad feeling she will be sold "AGAIN" to yet another person who has no clue. I am so worried that the horse is going to do much worse than what she did to me & I don't know how to stop it. I am truly stuck, although I have asked my friend to beg the women not to re-sale the horse, I believe she will sale her again. I feel as if my hands are tied & there is nothing I can do and that just makes me sick to my stomach!!!

Also there ARE drugs that can last 3-6 months, also very very hard to detect as the horse acts 'normal' ie:no usual signs of being drugged. I believe its called reserpine, also from what I heard its almost impossible to test for and detect, other than having the horse a little while (or even months) and suddenly one day its crazy.

Thanks CM I had no idea. I knew about a few drugs that can last up to 30 days or so, but never heard of up to 6 months, wow thats scary.

I was sold a dangeous horse and the sellers implied the horse was fine but I didn't know what I was doing because I was a beginner, too...so I had a trainer check out the horse and she agreed the horse was dangerous and no amount of training was going to help. The trainer said the horse should be in a pasture with no human contact or be put down.

They took her back. I had to pay for the trainer myself, but it was worth it. I see they are taking the horse back, good, but it is sad that they'll likely sell her again.

I rarely advocate this, but this mare is a good candidate for the auction with a warning attached to insure that she goes to a kill buyer.

I have seen horses turned from people hating devils to sweety pies, with chiro and massage therapy, but honestly, this mare could have killed you had her bite been at your neck instead of your breast. She obviously does not like life, so do her a favor and end it.

Oh my goodness! While I'm sorry to hear that you have a long recovery ahead of you, I'm glad to hear you're still alive. Wow. Good luck healing fast!

If I owned that mare she would have been put down that day. Kicking? And then a vicious unprovoked attack? Good riddance. There are too many good horses out there to keep a dangerous one, especially around kids.

Definitely sounds like she was drugged when your friend viewed her...and the fact that the previous owner owned her for only three weeks? Mighty fishy to me.
