dad had one other baby that was colored almost exactly like this one, out of a red mare. sadly, i dont know what color she ended up - she was found dead in her pasture before she made it to a year old, or shortly after. we dont know what happened - lightning, snakebite, colic... it's still a mystery. it would rock if he turned out palomino! i'm just happy that it looks like his back is gonna be shorter than mom's, that his neck looks like it ties in nice and high, and he has that beautiful dished face. i'll see if i have any leftover pictures of Scarlett, his half sis that was born red. then it's off to dreamland for me for a few hours... aha. she's on the left. their half brother (who i post some) is on the right. same dad. i'll try to snap some pics of dad tomorrow too. i dont think he is a grulla, but who knows? his belly spots stay dark dark, he has amber eyes, and his mane fades to a reddish color.  |

Congratulations. He is a beautiful colour and if he turns palomino, yeh. I thought that he looked quite a good size, not small. She looks like a very proud momma.

YAY!!! Finally I have had quite a few palominos born that colour. One I remember looked *quite* chesnut but because his sire was a cremello I knew he was a palomino. Congrats on a healthy baby!!! Daylight picts please...
