Post advertising pictures?

I'm selling my horse and I'm going to be taking pictures of him today or tomorrow and I was wondering what kind of pictures I should take. Like Jumping ones? and conformation shots? What other kinds? Should I like take Moving pictures and ones of his legs? Hmm, what do you think?

Just make sure you get a good angle... most pics look better from a diagional view.... a regular shot from the front or side.. can be hard to get a perfect pic... a diagional view makes them look good.. Taking pics of horses is an art!! One bad pic.. canmake even the best horse look terrible.. LOL My advice is take a whole roll of pics.. and you might get one good one!! Well thats me anyhow!! Id post pics that go with what your advertising her for... If shes a jumper.. people are going to want to see her jumping... I think you'll do better with an action pic.. any horse can stand for a profile shot. Show them waht your horse can do!!

you want to get conformation pictures of all his sides and his legs. you might want to get some riding shots of what the horse does best. make sure that you have him all cleaned up and looking good. you might even want to clip him up if he will let you. you want your horse to look his best when you are trying to sell him. good luck.

Like Paints said, you really want to have a good picture. Take lots of them and pic a good one that show his confo. Then take other pictures of him moving at all three gaits, jumping, some action shots, a couple of head shots. That way, when you get some interest in him, you have lots of different pics to send, showing all aspects of him.
Remember, one bad photo can ruin a good horse!

I can't stand it when people use pic's for ad's that were taken at an angle. Yes taking the pic's at an angle will make the horse look better but it will also hide flaws. If someone posts a diagonal pic it tells me they have something to hide and I keep right on looking. The first shot that people look at should be a confo pic. That is a picture with good lighting, if taken outside no wind should be blowing because a tail resting against a hind leg can make the leg look crooked. The horse should be standing square with one hind leg offset. The head should be up and looking alert(ears pricked forward gives the best impression) also be sure that the horse is standing on level ground and that there are no shadows falling on the horse in such away that it makes an optical illusion on the horses confo.

The next pic the buyer sees should be a flatering pic. What does your horse do best? For example if the horse jumps best then give a pic of him jumping if he has a beautiful trot then do that etc.

Then you should have pic's available of the horse from multiple angles and doing multiple things in case a potential buyer requests them. You should be able to give a confo shot, a shot of the horse moving at each gait, a performance shot(jumping, dressage, reining etc) a shot taken straight ahead looking at the front legs, a shot taken straight ahead looking at the hind from behind. Any other flatering pic's you have that show your horse off in a good light will also be beneficial.
