Red face Ack! Stock ties? Please help

Pony clubbers! What is the correct way to tie a stock tie for dressage/ eventing, please? Is it the one that's just a "foofy" square knot:

http://www.horse-rider-etc.com/foxhunt/tiestocktie.html

Or is it this nicer looking one?
http://www.saddleshop.com/extras/stocktie_print.htm

Help is appreciated! Thanks

-Megs

Yep I just did mine in a foofed up square knot per the instructions that came with the stock tie. There were many more complicated ones out there but I think most of those were the pre tied ones you just slip over your head.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think the stock tie is based on the 18th and 19th century man's cravat where very intricate folding was the norm.

For the dressage ring the square knot will suffice.

I always do the first way you posted... and that's how I was taught by Pony Club. lol
I just fluff it a bit more at the end, so you can't really see much of the knot, and at formals at rallies, I've never had any points off, so I assume that's the correct way to tie it... because they have untied it to work backwards to see that I did it correctly.

I cheated. I made one and it isn't actually tied even but looks right.
