| Senior Member | Ack, bad day! Tonight was one of those nights, where everything kinda goes bad. First off, I was late to my lesson and pretty stressed out about it. So then when I got there, I was put on a horse I've never ridden before and who I was told was VERY headstrong. I thought to myself, ok I can totaly handle this, just stay relaxed. That worked for a good while and I was starting to feel more comfortable. The horse was pretty well behaved on the flat but when we started jumping was when I really got unnerved. She rushed them like crazy and then would NOT stop cantering after I was done with the set of jumps. I circled and FINALLY after 1 full circuit of the arena she slowed down. So from then on I trotted everything. I absolutely didn't feel comfortable cantering and jumping a horse that runs away with me. Later on in the lesson we did some courses. Everyone else did a full course while I requested to do a tiny trot one. Then I started feeling like a dummy. My trainer promised me that next week I would be back on the little mare that I am more familiar with. I watched the videos my mom took and I guess I don't look as bad as I felt I did. It was just a bad lesson all in all.
