| Senior Member+ | ACC and others... Welsh stallions for my mare! All right, ACC, this is all your fault... I want some generalized stallion opinions. If you know of any others, please post them! I am "loosely" considering breeding my splash Haflinger mare to a Welsh stud... I want the stud to be SPLASH also. You can see photos here... (so I don't have to post them again, lol) Blue Eyed Haflinger and here... http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com...ed-183452.html Here is one I found... ![]() http://www.welshponiesgalore.com/stallions.html Please post other prospects! Chances are I will go with AI for a 2010 foal. I am not going to immediately re-breed her. Thanks! Kristina P.S. ACC - I do remember the other two that you posted

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well Cory (my good friend's stud) would be my top pick. Second pick would be whomever she chooses. :-) She is Welsh expert of the world. :-) I know who her second pick would be, but he isn't splash. I know who my second pic would be, but I don't think he does AI and is in WA I think. Sooo... what I am saying is let me do some looking and I'll post some tomorrow. I'm already sleepy tonight. :-) (I know it's EARLY!) ACC |

Early, sort of, but not so much now that you are working again... I will be going through the same "early cut-off" myself soon Kristina

I'm pretty sure these guys don't do AI, but Bojangles... wow. He throws alot of splash. http://www.lascauxwelsh.com/ourstallions.html I was going to post Cory's awesome splash half-brother, but his pics are gone? For now I'm too tired for anyone else, but trust me I can find you some good ones. :-) ACC |

The guy I posted above too obviously. More tomorrow: Cardi: http://www.winterlakewelsh.com/ Mardi Gras: http://www.welshponies.com/mardi.htm Frodo (forgive me if I go crazy on him, he doesn't have a page of this own): http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m26/gsagain/1.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...n/100_0453.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...in/Head_sm.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...ain/Froto2.jpg Bryn: http://www.cremellocob.com/ And the mare Tickle 'cause I adore her: http://www.ridesobright.com/tickle ACC |

![]() The only thing I don't like about him, his back seems a little long. My mare is a tad long herself, I *think* (hard to tell with her belly almost dragging the ground) so I think I would look for something shorter in the barrel. I think that Cory was the younger stallion just getting started... I loved his action. I look forward to morning, lol! Kristina

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Depending on the section of Welsh you get into, a long back is not necessarily a bad thing. The splash palomino throws STUNNING babies and I've never noticed a long back on them so I think the pics aren't doing him any favors. I'll see if I can find some kids to show you. My friend owns a STUNNING pally colt by him. In fact... she is selling him... need a colt? :-) Here he is: ![]() ![]() ![]() Mind you he was just a weanling in these photos. I think he is quite nice. Especially with that splash face and partial blue eye. A nice foal of his: ![]() This is a nice foal. You will probably think long back here... BUT. Based on her baby pictures, I think it is just a stage: http://www.tidecreek.com/Bellaspage.html Marilyn Monroe on this page. Ribbons speak for her: http://www.wishbroke.com/WBmares.html But yeah... he's one of my favorites because of the splash. Frodo (the bay baby) is remarkable isn't he? That's what you want to breed for, something that looks like him. Keep in mind he is Cory's half brother and Cory is just as nice. Cory's first babies will be on the ground in March so that will tell us alot I think as one of them is out of a Welsh and the other 3 are full size mares (Warmblood, Thoroughbred and Arab I think). Yes, he was the one that was the nice mover (with the two blue eyes, wink, wink). Bryn (the cremello) obviously has the benefit of guaranteed color, but he is a bit large (BARELY a pony) and combined with a Haffie the foal might be bigger than you want... ala over the Welsh limit. I considered him for my mare but I really feel the foal would end up too big ('course my mare is 14.2 and still growing). Mardi Gras is one of the best Welsh stallions in the country and throws ALOT of palomino. I know they are only supposed to be 50%... but he is well over that figure (luck only, but still). He always throws chrome... but I'm pretty sure it's only sabino. His bidy and movement is magnificent as are his babies. Logically, he is the best one. (Except for the bay, North Forks Cardi... he is THE best stallion in the country. It's a shame they changed their website and are not showing him off as well as they were. He is truly remarkable.) Cory has the potential to be a good one but does not have a show or performance record to mack him yet where Mardi Gras does. Also Cory isn't a dilute... but he is loud splash so that makes up for it. Breed to a chestnut and you'll end up with a flaxen chestnut at least. Breed to Cory and be flaxen and splash. LOL! I'm rambling again. Did you get my PM in response to yours? ACC |
