My brother is a physicist as well, working on a project to get energy out of seawater.

He loves horses, and would probably drown this woman in his project--literally--if he met her.

I will write a new letter, reflecting the felony issue, when I return from dinner and post it.

I am sickened, but its the least I can do.

This is absolutely repulsive! Those poor souls... I hope that ***** doesn't get her hands on them again.

Tomorrow morning I'll be sending off a letter and I'll make sure to email this to everyone I know.

I will be praying the judge will treat her as the felon she is. How can she even for one second think she deserves to get those horses back? She is obviously a very disturbed individual.
It would be absolutely heart wrenching & utterly reprehensible for her to get them back after all the love, time and money spent rehabbing them. How can that even be an option for her? Let's hope the majority of the jury will be horse lovers.

I have emailed the below letter to DA Phillips, I will be faxing a copy to the Attorneys on Monday morning.

Francis D. Phillips, District Attorney
255 Main Street
Goshen, NY 10924
Phone: (845) 291-2050
Fax: (845) 291-2085
fphillips@co.orange.ny.us

Mr. Phillips;

I have recently been acquainted with the case of the severely neglected horses owned by Ms. Keum H. Lee, via the website of the Pets Alive Sanctuary. The condition that the horses in her possession were found in is sickening to an extent I cannot begin to express in words.

These animals did not become this ill and thin overnight. Suzi, the mare found with the halter embedded in her head, had to literally outgrow her halter. Just like a tree being girded by a wire fence, this embedding takes an extended amount of time. Ms. Lee allowed these animals to suffer in a manner that is unforgivable. I am relieved at the information that felony charges are being sought at this juncture, there must be justice for animals in cases of this nature.

The accused Ms. Lee also seems to have no understanding or regard for suffering of her charges. The PetsAlive site states that she is refusing to pay the veterinary bills for the treatment these animals so desperately need. The arrogance and ignorance shown by this is flabbergasting. I could understand an inability to pay, and some ignorance of horse husbandry, but Ms. Lee has gone far beyond that—this is willful abuse.

There is no possible reason this woman should ever see her horses again, or for that matter be allowed to own any other animal while she remains under your jurisdiction. She, like several cases local to me, will continue to treat animals in this manner. Please look into the cases of Jean Elledge in Snohomish County, Washington, and Dean Solomon in King County, Washington. Both women have been convicted of animal cruelty in recent cases involving horses. They continued to neglect for many years, Ms. Lee will as well if given the chance. Neither of these cases involved animals as horribly abused as the palomino mare, Suzi.

No horse should ever be in a condition such is this. This is an extremely noble animal that lives to serve human beings, and it is thus our duty to care for them in deference to this service.

Please continue to pursue felony charges against Keum H. Lee. People all over the country are reading about this case, and its passing with a 'slap on the wrist' would be an outrage.

Sincerely,

Kelsey Baker
Sammamish, Washington

Not a word. Hopefully it's because they got too many to respond to them.
