I honestly think that the woman should be put down..... Unfortunately, my anger is at such a level, that I can barely type a coherent and properly worded sentence. (This took 7 tries --- and normally, I very much dislike profanity)

This is beyond abuse..... maybe if we wrapped her in barbed wire, and tightened it everyday until she expired.... but even that would be a bit too kind.

The abuse is horrific enough. The fact that she feels entitled to get these animals back, without having to pay the vet bills is arrogant. The fact that she feels entitled to get these horses back, in face of the abuse, is unfathomable. The fact that she will probably get these horses back, not pay the vet bill and face a misdemeanor charge is without a doubt, the most asinine thing I have ever heard of in my entire life and makes me literally sick to my stomach.

St Francis watch over these two and save them from mortal ignorance, arrogance and apathy.

There is truly and utterly something wrong in this world, if she gets those horses back. My faith in mankind to do the right thing will be shot to h*ell if that happens.

No , I'd feed her, I'd want to live a good long time... the wire would fester soon enough......

Appalling.

I don't understand how its even a possibility that she could get the animals back

Basically, they are taken away from her, vetted for free, and returned so she can abuse them again. That is absurd.

Well, they will charge her with one misdemeanor count of animal negligence for the horse with the embedded halter that was estimated to be 700 lbs underweight. That's right, 700 lbs. For the animal that was only 200lbs (yes, there is implied sarcasm here) underweight, she gets nothing.

How sad...

I had rescued a little pony mare who was quite abused, similar to the one pictured but not quite the extreme. Her halter was severely in grown and it took months to recover. She still has permanent scarring. She was extremely malnourished and had been beaten. She was rehabbed and retrained under saddle and I gave her to a young boy as his family's forever pony. Years later she is still happy and enjoying life.

Unfortunately, there are so many cases like this. I just don't understand how people can do this to any living creature.

Many times, when we are faced with this type of neglect and abuse, there is always the knowledge that the horses will go on to better homes. At least that is usually the goal on the ones who make it.

That option seems to be compromised in this case for some reason. What reason they could possibly have for returning these horses to this monster, is beyond me.

Out of interest, has anybody done any of the the things that were being requested by the original poster (it was cross posted) of this atrocity?
