I don't know if I would consider those horses so much pets as prisoners. I don't understand why that woman even had those horses at all. What did she do with them---obviously she wasn't riding them----they were way to underweight for that, and she didn't have the time to even feed them. Was it just some kind of a trophy to her "Oh, I have horses, too."? Or is she some kind of sadist? It made me sick to my stomach to see the decimation she caused through her carelessness and selfishness. I pray that she doesn't get those animals back.

I will admit that it makes me proud to say I am a horse owner. What makes me prouder is when people come out to see them and comment on how beautiful they are.

Some people just have loose screws rattling around in their heads and unfortunatley, these two poor souls were the victims.

Looks to me like she's a twisted individual who takes pleasure in torturing helpless animals

Me too Just last weekend some potential new boarders came to the barn and I had Hope in the round pen working with her. The whole family oooh'd and aaah'd over how petty she is and it made me feel so good

This woman has a hardware store full of loose screws

I don't think it is wrong to be proud to be a horse owner, or to feel good if someone says something good about your horse. What is wrong is to own an animal for the sole purpose of "status", if you will. Although, I don't know how owning an animal in that state of neglect could bring anyone status. She's obviously got that "collector" mentality.
I also like it when people sya nice things about my horse, but I have her for the love we give each other, and because I enjoy---no LOVE taking care of her. Especially because she was just skin and bones when I got her.

I never meant to imply there was something wrong with it, only that some people enjoy saying it. I cannot think of any legit reason this woman would own a horse let alone horses, except to be able to say she did.

Like people who like to say they own a bully breed of dog but have NO idea the responsibility that goes along with the ownership.

That is SO horrible. In the bible it says 'an arm for an arm, a hand for a hand' but our government has refused to punish those who harm our dear friends. Our friends can not speak to protect themselves, so we, the humans, must stand up for them.

Actually, loosely translated it says, "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but vengence is Mine, sayeth the Lord". Meaning we can all try to "do unto each other" but our divine justice will be at His hand. And I believe with all my heart, in this case, it will.
