Absorbine Supershine black?

Hi. Does the product, Absorbine's Supershine black hoof polish, dry out a horses hooves? I bought some for my mare, but i dont want it to hurt her beautiful hooves! If it might hurt her, could you list some hoof dressings that would not hurt her hoof, but put a nice shine on them. I dont want anything that might be a dirt magnetic. I want something that will dry quick. And if the supershine polish might dry her hooves out, please post tips on how to avoid it.... Thanks in advance! Please answer asap!

If you are just wanting to use it for shows you'll be fine with a polish. Just remember to take it off when you get home from the show.

If you want a 'daily dressing' let us know.

If you're going to use it, also buy the hoof polish remover. After the show, remove the hoof polish, and put on a regular hoof dressing if you want. As long as your horse is healthy, and gets a good diet, it shouldn't pose any problem.

if you are so worried about drying her hooves maybe you shouldn't use polish? It's ok just for shows, I promise.

This is the kind of hoof polish remover I have -

It is an aerosol spray and it is like a nail polish remover. Works on all hoof polish.

Do you just spray it off, or do you have to rub some? And also, where is the website that makes it? I've been looking everywear!

Here you can find the ultra brand polish...

http://www.showhorsesupplies.com/pro...1datarq=polish

I bet if you email her (she's a member of this forum, Acme Acres) she will be able to get you the polish AND remover.

(oh and I've always used a little rub with a paper towel to help get it off)
