? About Newborn Filly Habits....

This is a link to Daphne who was born yesterday morning and I noticed that she seems have her tongue kind of hanging off to one side of her mouth. It is not hanging out but yet visible. She does lick normally and doesn't seem to cause her trouble but it is weird.

Check it out and let me know if this is normal please.

Oh yes, very normal! Some hang it out even further than that!

Oh good - I was worried about palate issues and checked her and didn't feel anything off so good to know this is normal.

I have a mare that has a habit of this, and she had a little filly colt a week and a half ago. I noticed yesterday that the filly was doing it just like MOM. I think it's OK as long as they are not running from you while doing it!
