I love the third picture. Showed it my mom and made her chuckle. Used to have a cat who did that all the time.

And my goodness Moondust is gorgeous. It's safe to say she is a true White horse.
Most say they have a white horse, when they're just a light grey.

I keep scrolling up and when I get to the third picture, I can't help but laugh every time.

I think my Mare is pregnant, but still unsure, and don't have enough money to get a vet out here to check.

Just thought I'd put in my two cents!

I just pulled my baby, Holly, off of Charity a couple of weeks ago at 4 months since she was eating very well and didn't want Charity to get pulled down.

ETA: I don't want you to think I think she looks bad. Just that I can see where baby is taking it out of her now.
You know, I've been thinking the same thing. The points of her hip bones poking out is bugging me, and she has a bit of rib showing. Haven is eating grain with her mom, and hay. I was thinking that it may be time to wean too. They both get free choice hay 24/7. and plenty of grain specially formulated for mare and foal twice a day, and her hips are still not fully covered.

Thanks alot! Moondust is not white, but a cremello. I didn't even know that's how I caught her in the pic until I uploaded it to my computer! It was a pleasant suprise. I almost fell out of my chair laughing!!

She does look pretty thin. Those light colored horses are always difficult to see especially in photos, but she looks like she's easily a 4.

What all is she getting to eat? It could just be that she's simply not getting enough.

It's not unusual for a foal to drag down a mare late in the summer/fall even with good feed. Some mares just give everything they have to the foal. Those are the ones I willingly pull the foals off of at 4 months without a twinge. If Haven is eating good, then I see no reason to let her continue to pull mom down. Besides, it gives you more of a connection to the foal if she is looking to you for her breakfast and dinner instead of snacking all day on mom

You are right to say that she is not light grey. However, she's also not white. She is a "double dilute", so cremello, smoky cream or perlino (it's a little hard to tell which just by looking). The way it works is when a horse gets one copy of the cream gene, it dilutes their color somewhat, so sorrels/chestnuts become palominos, bays become buckskins, and blacks smoky blacks (which don't really look that different if at all, because a single dose of the cream gene only affects red hair, not black)

Now when the horse gets a double dose of the cream gene (which means both parents had to be dilute), they get even more dilution, to the near white shades like Moondust here (it's not really white...if you ever see one of these guys with white markings you can actually see the lines), and the eyes are also blue.
