well........dispite my 6 days a week cardio and weights and healthy eating, I managed to put on another 5 pounds in 4 weeks, since my last appointment. So, at 22 weeks pregnant, I have gained 18 pounds. I dont know WHERE it went, or how I could gain that much with everything I have been doing, but I am a little down now However, she did comment that my pregnancy is VERY healthy and normal, and although that was a little more then I needed to put on in 4 weeks, the baby is doing very well. I really, really thought I was doing sooooooooooooo well......

Please don't stress over the weight gain. Your body will put on the weight it needs for the pregnancy. 18 pounds is really not that much. Some women put on 60,70,80 +++++ pounds during pregnancy. Your body will do what it needs. As long as you are eating well and getting a moderate amount of exercise gaining weight is good

I know Im suppose to gain weight, But I was really hoping to stay in the recomened weight "range" of 25-35 pounds. I have have past weight issues, I gain easy...so I wanted to keep a fit pregnancy. I have been trying really hard, working out, eating well..the baby is doing great. I guess my body is going to do what it needs to do. At least Im gaining steady. If I gain another pound a week (as I have been) I should end at 35 pounds (ish) which isnt bad I guess...?

I know, Im fine with gaining weight, I just dont want to gain lots, it's not good for me or the baby.. I dont LOOK like I am 180 pounds right now....I dont know where it's all going..the baby is only just under a pound.

Remember, you will also put on muscle with the exercise program you are doing.....Muscle is heavier than fat. Plus, first pregnancies are the hardest from my experience. Girls will put on weight faster than boys.....and over the whole body, not just the belly. (at least in my experience). So if you are having a girl, you might put on more weight than expected. Something with female hormones from one website I read about. And since you are prone to weight gain, you may put it on faster in the beginning, and level off later. I gained good in the beginning, then leveled off and actually LOST weight at the end of my pregnancy. And if you aren't eating enough or keeping enough calories for the baby, your body won't burn the fat properly, and will actually burn the muscle, saving the important nutrients for the baby. So if you are doing TOO much for what your body needs, you'll gain tremendously, though you are working out a ton. So be sure you are eating properly, enough for the baby AND to burn in your exercising. At least, that was something my OB mentioned when I was working out this round.

please don't tell me you are one of those women who obsess about their weight during pregnancy! you have to expect weight gain, nobdy is "normal" What are you more concerned about, having a healthy baby or being fat for a few months? Sorry to rag on you but attitudes like that are selfish..

Im not "complaining" about putting on weight in pregnancy, like I said, I just want a healthy, normal weight gain and 5 pounds in 4 weeks is a little more then needed. Im hardley selfish, I have suffered weight issues in the past so it's going to concern me. Woman who pack weight on have harder times in labour and delivery, plus it's not good for the mom and baby... Im posting here for inspriation and opinions...not negative stuff thrown in my face.
