I was thinking that the salt levels in the water inhibit algea growth, but I am not going to encourage extra pooping from horse (epsom salts is a laxative)

One tip I have is, I use a syringe with a pointy tip to collect and administer coppertox to my horses frogs and walls for treatment of thrush and white line. It keeps the smelly stuff off my hands and I keep a rubber dishwashing glove with the bottle for when I do have to handle it.

I hate the smell of coppetox and the stuff spills easily and spreads quicky and STICKS to whatever it touches and it smells RANK! Strong rubbing alchohol cleans it off skin though, I have had a lot of experience using it over the past year and a half.

If your horses don't drink water at shows, trail rides, ect.:
Try bringing a cooler full of "home water" and let them drink that

And then someone told me this
Put apples in the water and the horse will "bob for apples" and get water in their mouth.
Not quite sure if that one would work thogh

if your horse doesnt like to be in an indoor washrack, try tying them up outside to bathe them. my last horse was claustraphobic(sp?) and as soon as he was outside he was good

To get tails and legs really white use bluing. its found in your local grocery store in the laundry section. Do not use to much, it will turn your horse purple only add a few drops to rinse water.
