Angry 76 Arabians starved in Texas

This is just an awful story... Thankfully the horses have been taken and the farm owner arrested. I can't afford much, but I'm sending a small cash donation and some dewormer.

I believe the Humane Society of North Texas is working on this case. I'm going to contact the Denton CO Sheriff to see what other groups are involved.

I read some of the comments that were below the article. It's sad to see that even his sister doesn't realize what he has done to these horses. Apparrently at one time he had a beautiful setup and things were going well. I just find it hard to believe, if he were big in the Arabian world that he didn't have friends that would be willing to help him out till he could get back on his feet. His selfish pride nearly killed these horses. I only hope his pride is what sends him to court with the appropriate punishment.

SICK.......... 4000.00 in fines ( did I read that right ) it should be per horse. I read some of the comments to, Sounds like maybe he at one time was a good person, But to have horses locked in a stall with no chance of getting food & water. I don't feel for him one bit. He should get jail time, The lady seen a for sale sign for his 1. something millon dollar ranch and drove up to have a look, if it had not bin for her, most of those horses would be dead in weeks if not day's. As for the people who knew him & say he is such a good man, How many times were those people at his ranch???????? and if they were and drove by the horse & did nothing they are just a wrong as he is. From what I read some of the horse may have bin boarders.

I say send him to jail, thats even better then what the stalled horse lived. Fine him x- amount for each and every horse. Then add all the cost for what it will take to get the horses healthly again, he has a 1. something millon dollar ranch. Why should it be up to the rescues & caring people to foot the cost ( we will help - but you know what I mean ) If the "LAWS" for horses would be better we would see much less of this. Dogs laws are better, It just makes me sick to see this happen over & over & the number of people who knew it was going on and DID NOTHING to help.

I agree, whole heartedly. The property should be sold to pay for all the care these animals will need. A sentence and fines to send a message to others across the country.

I LOVED Your Entire Post StormyFlica ... but Especially,
... thinking about it ... You're ABSOLUTELY Right!!!
There Surely were "Others" who knew these poor horses were in Desperate Need of HELP!!!

Why did it take a wandering stranger to Alert someone!!!

.....and by the way ... there's no doubt in MY mind that the wandering stranger was an honest to gawwwd Angel, sent by the Great Spirit

If I had an opening right now... for another horse...

Ugh. That just makes me sick! Hits close to home being a Texan, too.

I hope they all get homes.

I've got three ex-rescues as it is.

If he gets any jail time, he'll get up to a year ( and not per horse). So sad.
