So, I just actually took the time to read the whole thread (well, skim it and get the jist of what is going on here.) It seems that we do have some extremely differing opinions, and kudos to everyone who is defending their positions with knowledge and research.
As for anyone who doesn't read the entire thread, and posts an opinion based soley on the OP's original posting- keep in mind that this is indeed a LONG thread, and many of us do not take the time to read the entire thread. I know I tend to avoid posting on long threads with many responses because I don't have the time to read every single opinion, and I'd rather take the time to make an informed decision before I start typing.
That said, I am interested to find out what the outcome of this all will be. Wish we had more pictures. I would love to see before and after the AC took over. It sounds like they did jump to conlusions based on a few horses. Sad, sad circumstances. In my opinion, misinformed people who know nothing about horses should not be taking it upon themselves to make such rash decisions. They should all be required to bring an equine expert in to assess the situation before taking action.
Our local AC takes in horses all the time, and I know for a FACT that not one person on the team has a clue about horses- other than that they give them hay when they look skinny. Frusterating....

I will say, if you find the pictures of when this FIRST happened. They showed a very skinny horse ( I cannot remember what it was) standing infront of a nice plank fence ( painted white) with nice green grass in the pasture behind it. They said this was one of the horses that were siezed. FIRST Of all, they have barbwire not planks... SECOND of all... Michigan in Feb, does NOT have green grass. This has been a gong show from the word go. and to a PP who said abort and geld... I don't think you have any IDEA of what horses they have thier hands on.. OBVIOUSLY the ac and rescue do know, since they are trying to get papers on all the horses.

I just finished reading some of the articles on Mlive.com. Searched 'horses seized'. Very interesting reading.

Especially interesting to me is the amount of money that the county and rescue have put into providing care for these horses.

I don't see why they would lie about the condition of the animals. Maybe I'm naive but I also didn't read where the horse owners that have been charged have come up with $$$ for their care until this is settled.

Why should they come up with money? Not only have their horses been wrongfully taken from them, but are being fed and taken care of in a manner that most would not approve of. The hay trailer and wormers for all of the horses that was purchased (BY THE OWNERS) before the seizure were sent back by AC. They did not allow it onto the farm. The vet appt (MADE BY THE HORSE OWNERS) for Elvis (paint colt that was euthanized), was cancelled by AC who waited long enough for the colt to lose a large amount of weight, and his condition to move beyond repair. There are before and after pics if you know where to look. Most of the horses have lost weight since being taken over by AC.

Reading through this and trying to digest the "facts" and not be influenced by the emotion. Of all who have posted, in defense or against, how many have actually been there and seen with their own eyes?

I would be interested in hearing eye-witness accounts of what was seen at the time of siezure.

I wasn't there, but have friends there who were, and have sent before and after pics. I know MANY people who have dealt with these guys, and were impressed with their horses. They have long since made a name for themselves as breeders of quality horses. and I have competed against many of them at top level shows and rodeos.
